I know I'm 9 months late, but both the Pacer and Gremlin came stock with a 304 (5.0) V8.

As far as my knowledge goes, anything before the 1990s that of Front engine, RWD, with a V8 is probably going to be a ladder, or space frame for stuff like Nascar, but since the pacer didn't originally have A V8, it probably used McPherson struts in the front, and semi trailing, as it was RWD it could probably have wishbones in the front and rear, but that is unlikely for A hatchback. As for the chassis, in 1970, it was probably closer to a monocoque than a ladder frame, my guess is that it was basically a stripped down ladder frame, with the body welded directly onto it, giving the some overall effectiveness of a monocoque, but much cheaper and Heavier, I don't think it would have removable subframes, and it would be less rigid. FYI this is more of an assumption than true facts.
