V8 S10 Gforce Transmission Crossmember (Summit Rebrand) Upgrade

Amazing how many people think store branded items are made in a little factory somewhere. Like Summit has a factory in Texas making cross members. Technically many items are "rebranded" but in actuality in order to keep production going many sell rebranded items. Some cases, the Chinese factory will help rebrand and sell to competitors (Harbor Freight vs Snap-On). I mean, people really think there are 400 factories making wrenches in the world? Currently there are 3 factories that make lcd screens in the world. Just to each OEM's configuration.

How are you going to cool the transmission? I went with a Derale 13700 Electra-Cool Remote Cooler & mounted it under the bed and used -AN fittings and hoses which worked well. I also installed a thermostatic switch inline to turn the fan on at a specific temp. It kept the trans lines away from the engine and they became shorter in the process. I think I like it lol

Yes I have a derale remote cooler as well I plan to put under the bed somewhere also

You still would want a cooler upfront behind the grill it’s not gonna get enough air back there

Really eager to see how it runs once I can drive it finally. It's my first "build" like this in depth so I'm sure I'll have some bugs to work out. Your S10 seems to be quite a beast, real nice setup you have there! 👍

I just installed one tonight. Was curious about one thing my ear brake cable would not let me go on top had so much pressure on. It. Looks like yours does too. Not sure mine went through the opening works perfect that way.

What engine mounts did you use

I used the Trans Dapt 9906 mounts on this

I tried reading the instructions, I couldn’t tell but I don’t think that it said it would fit a TH400. Does this crossmember fit a TH400? Good videos by the way. Keep’em coming!

Thank you! This particular one does not, it states for Th350, powerglide, 700r4, etc. They do however make one similar for turbo 400 trans. It's around the same price also.

WRONG on pinion angle info., You want the transmission pointed down 2-4* more than rear end as the rear end gears climb upwards not downwards, So if you have the transmission at say 2* pointed down the rear end needs to be pointed down 4-6*, The way your explaining it the pinion angle is going to be positive NOT negative which will bind
