Why are so few people even now in 2024 not opting for an IRS rear suspension? Several vendors now offer great options, more than a couple with a cool cantilever setup you can see in the trunk. - NM, I see that it's also going to be an automatic, add in the convertible and it's obvious the owner won't be doing any track or auto-x time.

There are some great IRS options, but everything has it's own considerations. IRS in a first generation Camaro is heavy, and adds a big challenge of getting the exhaust out the rear of the car. They also can change the floor design, rear seat, convertible top operation, etc. with additional part cost. That is primarily why you don't see IRS as much as a good solid axle with quality components. We do like 'em, however!

I’m a fan of the non direct injection LS engines.. I assume the crate LT engine doesn’t have the cylinder deactivation bs the C7 Corvette has?
