VA-28N to VA-267E, The Dulles Corridor

Picks up VA-28N from I-66W and connects to VA-267E, Northern Virginia, DC suburbs.

I drove both routes...VA 267 was about what I expected (had seen it in pictures, in the past), but VA 28 came as a total surprise. My map indicated that it was just an expressway, not a full-blown freeway along the same stretch of roadway that you filmed in this video (save for the beginning, with the pair of traffic lights). Seems like the area really needed that upgrading. Your videos look great; I look forward to watching your future works.

@FreewayBrent Yeah some of those interchanges are brand new, opened within the past year. So basically those traffic lights you saw are the last set of light you hit for the rest of length of the highway (northbound). Has really made a difference in terms of traffic flow.

@VaFreeways On that note, the Frying Pan Rd interchange (around 2:15) was the last of the interchanges to open along this video, just earlier this year. At 3:46, the first phase of the Silver Line, out to Wiehle Ave, is scheduled to open in 2013. Local outlets here have mentioned 2016 for the entire line opening. Surprised you didn't mention the Beltway HOT lanes construction.

@Bryant5493 Use a tripod that I mount in the passenger's seat well. Yeah, Rt. 28 is nice but the pavement is pretty nasty-looking in spots. VDOT is famous for - lack of a better term, "polishing a turd" when it comes to road maintenance. We have a lot of roads in my area that look absolutely atrocious but they still manage to maintain a fairly smooth ride. They would rather use the living daylights out of a pothole killer truck then bite the bullet and pave the road.

@necroslair I was in the exact change lane. Which is if you have your money ready to drop into the slot and don't have to break a bill. It's a great idea in theory but more than once I've got behind some moron who gets in the exact change lane, then starts scrounging for change, holding everybody else up in the process.
