I was denied every time for TDIU till I figured out that a doctors not would help. So I sent it into the DAV and they sent them deck heads it. Maybe a month later I was checking my bank account and they dropped $48,000 into it. And I got TDIU P&T cause they said there is no need for anymore evidence. The note said, from memory, that I cannot work due to my 70% PTSD and it is expected to last the rest of my life. He was my doctor for over 3 years. Which helps more than a newer doctor im guessing. Anyways, just wanted to share my story. Keep fighting the good fight brothers and sisters.

Great advice CC! I had my TDIU claim denied last month and I even had a vocational expert. I appealed it and today the rater called and told me that he looked at the vocational letter and decided to grant me TDIU! So for those of you who get denied with a vocational expert just appeal it! Chances are some yahoo didn't look at it or did and decides to basically ignore it.

Fellow Vets: I worked in law enforcement & had to resign due to my service connection disabilities 15 months ago. I am %70 for mental health and I had my VSO send each employment denial letter from every County/Agency I applied for with my medical records. I was accepted for TDIU only after 3 months of my claim, he believes the letters where what speed tracked & approved my claim.

One major point that Craig didn’t touch base on, is besides going to your appointments for service connection, MAKE SURE YOU ARE RENEWING YOUR MEDS EVERY MONTH. The VA DOES look at your prescription history when making a decision on your claim. Even if you don’t take them, GET THEM. If you’re not taking your meds but are trying to claim 100% you WILL be shot down.

I had to fight to get TDIU. It wasn’t easy. Nonetheless, the VA didn’t want to hear my story on how I was in a dual military marriage. Sent us both to Iraq within a two month period with me going first. I can write a book! PTSD, military sexual trauma…..migraines, tinnitus! I’m going to wait for each challenge the VA brings and I will poor out every truth to include leaving my kids behind so I could fight in a war that a lot of people claimed as “conscientious objectors”….I went without a second thought!

You're 100% right. The veteran is their own best advocate. You have to educate yourself, videos, CFR, citations, pubmed. Only the veteran knows their aches and pains and you need to learn about secondaries, if applicable. The VA will not help you. They look at the evidence you supply them. It's the facts. The only time feelings come into play is your statement in support of claim. I'll be submitting my vocational (physician's) statement that I used for my medical retirement from federal government job. He's very experienced with workman's comp, federal retirement, VA claims. Recently approved, so I'll be submitting my approval letter as well. I filed TDIU in my last claim, in the event I couldn't get to 100 scheduler. I got to 100 p&t, but still sending the TDIU paperwork. Thanks for all you do, CC.

Hello Craig, the VA hired and Contracted a Licensed Psychologist to review and determine my claim, so a Vocational expert is not the only option that the VA has. Also, determining factors for TDIU is have the Veteran has been fired from the very job they worked. That is a determining factor for TDIU to verify workability and the reasons for the termination as well. Also, just like Social Security, a Veteran must not have worked for a year or more. Showing unworkability. I am going through mine right now.

I just got my letters from VA. Lost a great job on 2014 due to injury while in service. They felt liable, so had to let me go for medical reasons. Applied for lower back and got it the second time. Las letters were for Gulf War related, some approved, some not. Also, got a letter asking me to file properly for Headache, depression and PTSD. Will check back with Hill and Ponton to see, as this may seem to be asking for a Higher-Level review, as stated on the letter. There are other things I need to check as I see no mention of CPAP, etc.

What if I’m trying to claim TDIU because of my Anxiety which is at 50%, so since is combined do I have to say that another of my disability is preventing me from working so it can be at least 60%? I’m overall 80% disabled. Or can I go ahead and apply with my 50% anxiety?😊

I got TDIU i hired a lawyer and they brought a vocationally expert and they were able to explain substancial gainful empoyeement and as soon as the expert finished talking the lawyer tried to speak to complain about something and the judge immidiatly stopped my disability lawyer and said im about to rule in favor for your client are you sure you want to object and continue the lawyer said no your honor and i got apporved that quick and easy. The lawfirm i had hired figured my case was so solid the gave my case to a new lawyer i was his very first case and the judge kept having to help and prompt the lawyer. I was so pissed about that but my point is 100% of the success came from the vocational expert the lawyer was less than helpful in court

Hey Craig, you always give the best advice I really appreciate it. I have one more question. I'm 10% tinnitus, 70% depression with adjustment disorder, and appealing a denial on migraines pending a proper nexus. I plan on filing for TDIU and getting a vocational assessment, I haven't worked a steady job in years. Should I apply for TDIU with vocational assessment for 70% + 10% now and see if it gets denied, then if/when I get migraines connected, appeal their decision with this "new evidence". OR should I just wait to see if I get the migraines service connected to come strong with all 3 from the start, which means I'd have to wait a few months until I get a migraine decision. I assume the VA won't care since about the migraines in an assessment since they're not service connected "yet..", and therefor "not their problem" to consider as evidence for TDIU. Simply put, should I apply to TDIU now to get an earlier start with my current 70% + 10%, then add migraines later on if they get service connected?

I was rated at 90% after 6 weeks making my initial claim for PTSD, and TBI. They then said here’s a VA form 21 8940 for 100% TDIU. We have this as a new claim for you(inferred). I then submitted my form last Monday and today I received in the mail, and email, as well as a phone call for C&P exams next week. The exams are for exactly the same thing I did 8 weeks ago for PTSD and TBI. Why would they make me have re-evaluation just two weeks after being rated at 90% and two months after having my initial C&P exams?? Nothings changed since other than my 100% TDIU application. They pretty much alrighty have my answers and medical records. Makes no sense. They couldn’t give me a definitive answer when I called.

To win TDIU VA should exclude service connected requirements. This law was made to help veterans because of unemployability and the service connection was secondary since the rating requirements include service connections.

11 yrs of VSO fails and solo fighting to get to the 70% I'm at now, the first 3 of that to get the first 10% after a medical discharge. A few months ago I got a lawyer that charges 20% of any back pay they get but say I will be at 100% or TDIU 100% when they are done. That will more than double my disability and get me 80% of all back pay too. If I would have done this to start with I'd skipped a few yrs of hell. I say contacting a lawyer for an free evaluation right at the start is the way to go unless you have lots of reputable help that know the system.

Recently had c&p exam. I was diagnosed with medical and ptsd. Evaluator said my symptoms severely interfere with my social and occupational functions.the evaluated said more likely than not related to my military service. My pcl-5 score is a 70. What should I expect and how soon should I hear from the va.

I am 56 and was recently rated 100% due to TDIU. My scheduler rating is now 90%. I filed the claim in Aug 2020 and the VA is telling me I’m not entitled to back pay because I am retired military and collecting a pension. That doesn’t make sense to me because I was 30% scheduler before I filed the claim. Can you explain why they think I shouldn’t get the 20 months of back pay?

What if you use the va's vocational "expert"? Just got told I qualify for VR&E, got told that I am favorable for the education, but that the vocational counselor herself, doesn't feel I am able to complete that type of education or training, however she worded it.

So regarding my denied claim... I had mentioned an event that triggered the pain and the cheating VA decided to use those words against me saying that, THAT EVENT is what caused the initial injury, not the armbar I got put into during a combatives tournament where my arm got over extended a bit and I didn't tap out on time ugh ... I am soo freaking livid with these cheating Fs...

Hmm 🤔 whats your take if you file as a LLC and invest in a small farm to keep your gross income down 👇 under 13k. Because i know many farmers that are worth millions and qualify for fuel assistance ect... lunch programs for the kids ect... because you don't work around anyone else. Plus your llc files as a separate entity. Then you pay yourself appropriately. It's marginal at best....

Combat Craig, always watch your vlog, I used the VSO to file my claim because the dude is a friend of my best friend. At the same time I was watching you. filed a claim in February of 2021 and I got C&P exam in March. On April I got approved for depression and trauma at 50 2 months later I got approved for PTSD with a total of 90 in all. I have used all the strategies you have now I am filing for TDIU glad to listen to you about TDIU waiting for the results. Now I my question is I have more claims to file like back injuries, sleep Apnea, leg pain as secondary, my scars that was not included in my claim yet should I lawyer up now to claim all this. what is your advice

Hey folks status update: Was recently denied service connection for headaches secondary to tinnitis. From here listened to Combat Craig and contacted Hill and Ponton. Due to service load I got assisted by Bosley & Bratch. They helped me file HLR and due to me not working because of my service connections also filed UI. Got news last week awards went through and I was paid from when I was out of work. Folks if you can't do this yourself a favor and listen to Combat Craig and GET HELP. Can you speak more to the issue of seeking private care vs getting treatment at the VA? Ex: if one's service connection is mental health, does one half to do counseling at the VA to keep the rating, or will the VA accept private provider updates?
@CombatCraig

You just need medical evidence from somewhere man. A private doctor is the easiest and quickest alternative 🤠

Craig, I have a question for you. So when I go to the tricare patient portal and I pull up me problems list I noticed that not every problem or encounter was listed. For example I had issues with my ankles not listed but my knee pain was. However, when I go into all of my encounters and into my HAIMS documents there are many other things I was seen for. Should I be concerned? For instance, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea but not on my problems list but in my encounter that a sleep study was done and a diagnosis was made.

@ 14:46. CC. They hate us so much because some of the raters want to be in a veteran's monetary-shoes getting the same pay as veterans. They hate us because they're in a corner office, hate their jobs, or aren't satisfied with their career choices, wishing they were us. Classic social services type thinking that vets are getting tax-free money. But they're wrong - VETS EARNED IT! I digress. I don't wish anyone in my shoes as a disabled vet. So, in the meantime, since I served my country honorably, RUN ME MY MONEY! I EARNED IT!
