What a coincidence that Rishi Jamadagni's son is Parashurama and the Parashurama Kshetra is the coast of Northern Kerala/ Southern Karnataka and the movie Kantara is based on such Devta tradition of that place.

Actually Rohit mentioned about Devi, Devta and similar culture existing in North Kerala, Tulunadu of Karnataka. Also the community through which the Devtas communicate is generally disadvantaged sections. It is a coincidence that the Kannada movie KANTARA that is currently doing extraordinarily well is based on this tradition. .

I feel sad for Jammu people, whenever someone talks about J&K they just say Kashmir, eventhough Jammu people have always been loyal to India but, all the fund of J&K is spent on Kashmir inspite of the fact that it only bleeds India. My only concern with separating Jammu from Kashmir is that it might make Pak presence stronger in the valley because Jammu is probably the only thing that keeps Kashmir in check.

I visited tirthan valley recently, it has stark similarities with culture of uttarakhand, like food, clothes, even folk dance, also in agricultural practices, traditional home design, also , regarding devi/devta being the ruler of the area and forest. Himachal got a leader they deserved, however uttrakhand remain impoverished with uttrapardesh and the movement for statehood was one of the most brutally suppressed one in india, thousands of killed and woman raped in multiple stages of protest by uttrapardesh government of the time.

What Rohit is referring to about Tulunadu is what you see in Kantara. It is similar but different in Kerala. Another interesting point which rohit mentions is going to the temple with questions. In rural Tamil Nadu there are people that go to a temple with a question and wait for an answer. the answer is given by a lizard, and based on where and what it says the decision is taken.

I have to write this because bhai is right but wrong also in lot of things. First 1 is completely true about forming of state. The great person Dr. Y.S. Parmar was. General Zorawar Singh Kalhuria was from kalhur in Bilaspur District. Shanta Kumar was a good leader but he was not the first choice of CM post. There was a great man Kanwar Durga Chand of Katoch Rajvansh . A very simple but brilliant man. Chandresh Kumari was his siste in law. Late veerbhadra Singh is the reason congress has a lot of problems today . He didn't let any person grow to become a candidate for CM post. He was a CM 6 times but for 21 years only. You know why whenever he knew would lose the post. He used to dissolve the government. Only once he completed his term. He could not walk and talk during his last tenure but still Congress kept him in post. He didn't let kaul Singh Thakur to be CM, Late Mr. G. S Bali also. And his wife is no good leader she just won in his sympathy. That also leading in 7 out of 17 constituencies of loksbha. Apart from the house of Chamba , Pathanias of Nurpur no other Royal house gave military resistance to the British. Professor Dhumal was a great CM. But if Mr. Shanta Kumar was a little less egoist he would have been the CM for a very long time. ( He didn't used to give Mr. Modi time for meeting when he was Himachal in charge) But he was far ahead of most politicians in the country. I am writing this because Mr. Pathania here is correct here in a lot of things but his sole knowledge should not be taken in account. Still its very less to get you an idea of our Devbhumi. But I hope it would be of some use. Plus kudos to Arihant bhai for having such a great talk with Pathania Bhai about our state.

Vidya stokes is his daughter in law not his daughter. Satyawati stokes was his daughter. She passed away in 2002. She was an MP from the erstwhile mahasu lok sabha seat.

Kullu was part of old Himachal and Punjab till 1966, Lahaul Spiti was under British(not a Princely state) as was said by the respected speaker, Bilaspur being a lower Himachal state was a principality, Vidhya Stokes Satyanand Stokes ki Beti nahi , Bahu thi. Stokes American thae Na ki European, Stokes saab Se pehle apple Kullu región main Capt RC Lee le k aaye thae , Stokes ne Shimla area main apple farming ko badhawa diya. Aur bhi kai facts thae discussion main jo thore aage piche thae . Bulk drug park Una district main hai Na ki Bilaspur main. Par Chalo, overall achi discusión thi 🙂
