Lucky Penny Thoughts: I like checking out vintage toys and seeing how they work. Once I get started, I never know what will happen. This worked great and did exactly what it said it would do on the box! Make cars. The shell ended up being thinner then I expected, but it still ended up being a use able car.

I had this as a kid. They made a set of molds and chassis that were like monster trucks too. I got the former and the truck add on for Christmas one year. Loved it! Thanks for the memories! Heads up though, they also made a little bottle of spray that you could use to lube the molds so they wouldn't stick.

I had an earlier model it was from the early 60s. No timer kids were told to watch a clock or just count. I melted the plastic sheets too much. It was a stinking mess. It some how disappeared. Dad had removed it.

With these Vac-U Former toys, forming very quickly is key in getting good forms. The plastic starts to cool immediately upon being removed from the heat source, so any hesitation and you get what you got with the black car, which was way under formed. One thing I also figured out with many of these toys is that the times they suggest in the instructions are often way off. It's like they never made the toy following their own instructions. If cars are not forming well, it usually means you hesitated too long to pull the vacuum and/or you didn't heat up the plastic enough. I also noted that the plastic that is used with the Vac-U-Former can get brittle with age. The Vac-U-Form toy from the 1960s plastic tends to survive longer in age, but it is not useable with this machine.

Did you ever have the HotWheels Bigfoot Crunch Arena? It had cars printed on sheets of aluminum foil, and a 2-sided die to form the sheets into car shape, and a motorized Bigfoot truck to crush them.

Watchers are always experts ;) I approach all my videos as if I were a brand new user of the product I'm going to demo. I do not run behind the camera tests to make it appear I'm an expert.l or I know exactly what to do. This is how a parent or child would approach any new toy they get. That makes it more genuine as to what my mistakes and miss-understanings are as I learn about it. Everyone is an expert on KZbin and the obvious is always obvious to the one who sees it that way.
