A house.......with an underground chemical lab????
In this explore we visit an old Mansion in the English countryside,
Built in 1878, this household once entertained the likes of Queen Victoria's sons.
Until recently it formed part of the rural campus of a well known college, as we venture down into the basement, we discover vast underground labyrinths of labs!
This reminds me so much of Spencer Mansion from Resident Evil, the mansion then being a facade for the sinister work in the underground complex.
Will we find the undead...........

Brilliant work 👏 Loved this. Thanks very much. For anyone interested, the Manor House became 'out of bounds' to staff and students in July 2014. There have been plans to sell the house off and convert it into luxury apartments but there has been outcry over this, as the University still intends to keep running the campus (in the many other buildings on the land). Only the house and formal gardens would be sold. Due to the backlash, all plans are still on hold....6 years later.

The problem is money. These vast properties just after WWII attracted astonishing amounts of tax so that families sold the contents and gave the properties to the state or applied to demolish. Some were taken as institutions others became used schools or research institutes. These were run by companies who made profits or losses. Land was sold off the buildings remained but could not be demolished by this time but were severely expensive to maintain and were left to rot by companies that were headquartered abroad. They don’t care and would like these to fall down and sell the sites. The houses themselves have no validity today as you can well see. They were only viable to highly monied people 120 years ago or more who could engage very large staffs for little money.

I think the majority of the lowest level was for science-based research on plants. None of it looked like biology of anything else. When this place was a college, students may have studied about farming. Loved the video guys, Thanks. This is a gorgeous place to explore and then show us all you've seen. So Thanks again.

Prof. Michael Hassell (named on one of the notices) is an important internationally renowned biologist, working primarily on insect ecology. There is nothing particularly secretive in the research work carried out here at Imperial College Silwood Park campus, previously and now - just making best use of available space at the time.

Alex are you educated on Tartaria history that has been untold..when you are exploring these beautiful buildings and you are blown away by the architecture this because its not built us... Look up "Auto didactic" on KZbin and a understanding of this will come to light. when you are exploring you have a better vision at what you are looking at.. Sadly all these buildings are mostly in hands of gov or elites. this to hide our history..but its coming to light💞🙏🌻

So crazy! These places are insane. The fact that they had multiple uses over the years is incredible enough but then to see them abandoned or at least out of use is wild. Makes sense as they must be a nightmare to keep in good condition and to run/heat etc but looking at the billions of pounds that the 1% have and the thousands of people without homes and then you get places like this just sitting there…it’s all so screwed up. Anyway, thanks for the amazing explores guys! Keeping me sane at work 🤣

@VacantHaven thanks for responding. One of the reoccurring themes with these ancient buildings is the amount of time they took to design and construct, most are usually completed in under 2 years, bear in mind they were all built without so much as an electric screw driver, as power tool didn't come into use until the late 1800s, long after these building were erected. The other problem that seems to go with these buildings is the lack of a building merchants' names being provided, the suppliers and transporters of materials required. I'm sure what you and your mates are doing has come at the right time for the right reasons.
