About Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai
Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai was a learned philosopher and the founder of the innovative philosophy - ‘Jeevanvidya’. He was born in Mumbai, India, on October 21, 1923, in a middle-class family. He did his graduation from Mumbai University, Maharashtra, India, in 1944 and majored in Economics. He enjoyed a happy married life. His son and daughter are also happily married and well-settled with their children in India. Satguru was employed in the State Government of Maharashtra, and he retired as a Deputy Secretary, Finance, in the year 1981, after which he could devote more time to his discourses and towards developing Jeevanvidya Philosophy.
At a very young age of around 25 years, Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai was initiated into spiritualism by his Guru, Shri Nana Maharaj Srigondekar. Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai attained the highest goal of spiritual sadhana (self-realisation), by his devoted and relentless efforts. He experienced inexplicable bliss and satisfaction, which propelled him to spread the spiritual knowledge and bliss to the masses. With the blessings of his Satguru, Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai started delivering discourses on spiritualism from the year 1952, at the Spiritual Centre and at the Vivekananda Centre in Mumbai. After some years, Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai and his ardent followers felt the need to set up a trust for the systematic dissemination of knowledge and the consequent upliftment of the masses. Hence they set up ‘Nam Sampraday Mandal’ (NSM), (later renamed as ‘Jeevanvidya Mission’) on Dassera day in 1955. Nam Sampraday Mandal was officially registered with the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai, in the year 1979.
Throughout his life, Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai did not charge any fee for his lectures, discourses, radio or television broadcasts, etc. Further, his acts inspired his disciples (Namdharaks) to work selflessly for the masses through the channel of Jeevanvidya Mission. Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai authored more than 25 different books in his spiritual life-span of about 50 years. Being a prolific writer, he wrote on a diverse range of topics - from the very mundane to the very esoteric, spiritual topics - which impinge man’s life. His sole purpose was to make ‘Jeevanvidya’ philosophy easily accessible to the wide cross-sectionof society and income-groups. He did not accept any royalty for any of the books which he authored.
He delivered more than 10,000 lectures on ‘Jeevanvidya’ throughout India, especially in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka (Belgaum) and in USA, for the first time, in the year 1998. As per his practice all these discourses were delivered free of cost.
He was very particular about the financial dealing of ‘Jeevanvidya Mission’ and ensured an impartial board of trustees, to control its finances. Every single rupee was accounted for, in the books of account. He also ensured that the poor and needy were attended to first in meeting him.
Satguru Shri Wamanrao Pai had descended from the Eternal to uplift the morass in which human-beings had sunk; and after his goal was achieved, with his characteristic angelic smile, he left for the higher plane on 29 May 2012, after a brief illness. He coined the powerful slogan, that ‘You are the architect of your Destiny’.

I like his talks for sure, however I find his statements contradictory , he says Naamsmaran kara, at the same time, he says there are no gods, a little contradiction! or maybe I am not understanding his philosophy

the cosmic life force (god) is in everything that exist, in us too ( ishwarasswarva bhutanam) but have forgotten our swaroop. To get the memory back - naamasmaran, as recommended by all the saints! Vitthal, hari, ram, etc are all the names of chaitanya shakti( divine cosmic energy) Sadguru says, God does exist! It is everything and everywhere. We have confined some imaginations into idols and other symbols- that is not true god! Jeevanvidya philosophy is completely scientific and based on laws of nature! Definitely do several courses of jeevanvidya mission for more and better understanding and a blissful life :)
