Wow, what a great review you get down to the nitty gritty! I just purchased one of these at Amazon for 199. after using it for 10 minutes, slid it under the couch catching the latch for the suction nozzle and breaking it off. it appears that it is not broken, but merely came loose. My wife found a little spring as well. I sure would like to see a close-up of how that connects back on the unit and if I can put it back, I have a rubber band holding it together now and it’s working fine, but I’d like to have it back. If you can send me a snapshot close-up of that, I may be able to get it back together thank you so much.

I was searching for the cause of my Hoover Smartwash not putting water out. I did not find the answer anywhere in several videos. So I decided to figure it out by myself. Easy enough to find that the holes were clogged in the sprayer part that snaps onto the front and where you can see the water going out then being sucked up. Could you please post another video showing this issue and the answer? I used a paper clip that I straightened to clean the holes.

In the off chance someone has the same issue, finds your video and sees my comments, here's how I fixed with the help of a support agent: clean out the dirty water tank and rinse the filter that's in the corner of the tank. Add 2 cups warm clean water to the dirty water tank. If there's no water in the clean water tank add a couple cups there as well. Secure the tanks back on the unit and run in the upright position for 3 minutes. Then, without turning it off, recline the handle, move it forward to dispense then backwards to suck up what was dispensed. In my case, it worked. Note that the filter did have a very small bit of gunk in it before I rinsed it. Didn't seem like it could have been enough to cause the issue, but maybe...

@quick2152 жыл бұрын
@@shannonw881 Yes I am having the same problem. It's that the bottom suction mode won't kick on so the water receptacle stays 100% dry. The lower sections where the hose plugs in has no suction at all. Turning it on its side is not "clicking" it on, it just won't turn on.

I bought one of those. Anything that finicky is a total piece of CRAP. I only had maybe 30 min. no more than an hours run time on mine and it quit working correctly. No clogs whatsoever. Only thing that happened was: the recovery tank got full and it stopped sucking which is what it's supposed to do but, after dumping and cleaning after such short usage it still would NOT WORK CORRECTLY. Only thing that solved the issue of not sucking was just to remove the float. I had to do this because the carpet was already wet. So, IF YOUR CLEANER WILL NOT SUCK WATER AFTER CHECKING FOR CLOGS AND CLEANING, WATCH THE FLOAT, IF IT RISES UP, CLOSES OFF THE PORT AND STARTS BLOWING AIR OUT THE BOTTOM AND WON'T STOP THE ONLY SOLUTION MIGHT BE TO REMOVE YOUR FLOAT.

I watched your part 1 and now this part 2. As I mentioned in your part 1, I continuously clean out the pet hair from the rollers and the filters and rinse the rollers off. I have used this machine a lot in the 6 months I've owned it. I take great care of the cleaning but after I shampooed my carpets I started the rinse cycle (which is done by removing the "solution tank" and filling your clean water tank) then you can proceed to just rinsing only by moving it back and forth. I have done this several times in the past, however today the machine started making a loud noise and smoke came out of the motor. I've checked all the components that you have shown in your videos. Do you have any idea how to get to the motor in the back to see if perhaps maybe there is pet hair in there and that is what is making my motor work overtime? My rollers are clean and the bearings are amazing and they spin freely and every outlet is and continues to be cleaned out as I use it. I appreciate any advise. Once I am done I dump out the plastic canister, also I remove the under filter canister and empty it as well. I take out the foam filters, pull all the debris off of them and rinse them and let them air dry and put the vacuum back together after everything is dry. Then I store away my vacuum. I have had this Eureka canister vacuum cleaner for 8 years (because I take care care of it). I have it on the lowest carpet setting so it sucks out all the cat hair and other debris in my carpet. Somteims I have to vacuum twice to ensure I get all the carpets cleaned as much as a vacuum can do. My solution tank on this model leaks from the back once I put the tank into its little holder. How do I fix that. I don’t believe it is the tank itself as it doesn’t leak until it’s placed on the plunger in the place it sits. Help. As I don’t want to purchase a new machine!!!!!

@judymaxwell25672 жыл бұрын
I can attest to this. Dogs here and hair galore. Vacuum well first and then shampoo. You'll still have to clean after every shampooing, but cleaning after every use extends the life of the shampooer.

Shame on Hoover for using screws that rust... I wonder if this explains why I read so many reviews of belts breaking....possibly because of rusting bearings? I hope people who own these see this video so they know to take the end caps off and dry that tank out....I can't believe they use such cheap parts

My machine is doing the same thing - won't suck water at all. I've already cleaned any little debris, etc. from everywhere. Is there some way you cleared the clog other than turning the machine on its side and jiggling it? That didn't work for me. I tried the solution another commenter gave about adding water to the dirty water tank and running for 3 minutes, but nothing. There is suction from the hole underneath the dirty water tank, but no suction from the hose areas. It picks up absolutely no water whatsoever. Let me know if I missed something - I hope to hear the satisfying swoosh sound of my clog clearing!

Same issue. Did yours ever get fixed?
@karenburkhart27332 жыл бұрын
Oh my god. I figured out my issue. I didn’t have the dirty water tank put back together perfectly. Try taking your tank lid off and put back on again. Stupid. Absolutely stupid design.
@jessicabeck87012 жыл бұрын
@@karenburkhart2733 The float on my dirty water tank was not operating properly. It would immediately pop up once suction started, shutting the suction off. We put a small rubber ring around it to weight it down slightly to prevent this. It still floats up when the tank is filling/full, but doesn't automatically pop back up.

@@karenburkhart2733 Thank you! I watched this video hoping to figure out why mine wasn’t working. The video was helpful but didn’t fix my problem, so I scrolled through the comments and found yours. i hate this design for alot of reason 1 small tank 2 belt is a hassle to change 3 motor is prone to seize up 4 all the screws will rust an go to dust an itll fall apart 5 the brush will continue to spin when its not supposed to in upright 6 non stainless ball bearings and 7 water will get in the motor an screw it up
