From April 17 to May 19, 2024, the Museum of Modernity in Olsztyn (in the exhibition hall in the former trolleybus depot) hosted an exhibition devoted to the history of cleaning and the evolution of vacuum cleaners - from archaic hand-powered devices to the first attempt to create an autonomous vacuum cleaner. Important parts of the exhibition entitled "Augean Depot. From Broom to Robot" included presentations of models of vacuum cleaners from the interwar period, issues of the importance once attached to design on the example of devices that were often small works of design art, as well as the history of native Polish vacuum cleaners. In this recording, the curator and head of the Museum of Modernity, Mr. Jacek Moczulski, will guide you through the exhibition. He is not only the author of the exhibition concept, but also lent many unique exhibits from his private collection for the presentation.
The tour presented here took place in preparation for the Night of Museums on May 18/19, 2024, which was also the finissage of the exhibition.
