@Jupiter-rs4zl California is 5.99 a gallon averagely... traffic depends where you travel takes 17-45 minutes normally , LA is 45 minutes to 2 hours on a terribly accident filled day. So here on the coast we travel by time not by distance. If you own a V8 truck that runs 18+ gallons to the mile and if that 1 mile takes you 17 minutes due to traffic your looking at way more then 18 gallons for that one little trip since all your gas is spent on traffic and crawling under 5mph, wheras a little 4 cylinder honda is way more gas efficient at 30+ miles to the gallon. And electric is a fail, we get warnings all the time about our power grid being strained .

I've been working with hydrogen generators for about 7 years and there are some issues I can see here. The video makes no mention of how to "trick" the o2 sensor into thinking everything is normal with the increase in oxygen from the hydrogen production. If you don't install an o2 manipulator or somehow fake out the o2 sensor, your generator will be useless. Your engine will adjust your gas consumption accordingly once it detects the increased oxygen. Second, having wires go through the sharp holes on the metal lid will eventually cause a short and your hydrogen generator will go BOOM. Third, the increased h2o, which is a by-product of hydrogen generation, will quickly corrode your exhaust system. I mean quickly corrode. The money you will spend on exhaust repairs will outweigh the savings on gas. I installed mine on my Cadillac, which by the way, happens to have a stainless steel exhaust system. My car went from 28mpg to just over 40mpg, but ONLY after I installed an o2 manipulator I purchased online.

Most people that do this, from what I've seen, tend to put the hydrogen input past the O2 sensor. As far as I've seen in newer vehicles most O2 sensors are halfway up the intake, so there's plenty of room to add in a hose and reseal.
@captaindeadpool16408 жыл бұрын
I think your talking about the maf sensor the 02 sensor screws on the manifold there is a 02 manipulater sensor you can buy that looks the same that you screw in there and trick it to make the car run rich or lean and this makes since cause if you don't manipulate the 02 sensor it will tell the motor to push more gas if you manipulate it then it should compensate for the hydrogen.
@robertclark27142 жыл бұрын
I did this for years on an 76 Dodge D100 with a 318. I never could get it to run on pure hydrogen without gasoline. Gasoline requires the engine timing to be set Before Top Dead Center but pure Hydrogen explodes rather than burns so it would have to be timed After Top Dead Center. The temperature of the combustion chamber is critical too because Hydrogen will detonate as soon as the intake valve opens regardless of the spark timing if the combustion chamber is too hot. I would take a two liter plastic bottle and put the hose coming off the fuel cell in it for a minute or two then light it with a Bic lighter. It would shoot into the next subdivision. These fuel cells actually produce a lot of Hydrogen and you can make it useful.

Just idling your engine is over a 600 rpms. Driving a 2.5 liter 4cly motor is about 150 cubic inches. That's 37.5 cubic inches per a cylinder. A cylinder fires ever 2 full rotations. So in a minute of idling at 600 rpms your engine will use 11,250 cubic inches of air a minute at just idle. That's a 187.5 cubic inches a second of air. You're not producing even 2 cubic inches a second. But don't forget that it's h2O 2 parts hydrogen 1 part oxygen. So 1/3 of the gas isn't even hydrogen it's oxygen. So not even 1% of the air being taken into the cylinder is hydrogen. The only thing being accomplished here is the alternator is working harder for the high amp draw dragging the motor down more reducing fuel mileage. This is why water isn't used as fuel in a motor vehicle. Now don't forget we don't drive at 600 RPMs most people will be around 1800 rpms at cruising speed. That's 3x the amount of air with still the same hydrogen production. So now ur way below the threshold of .03% hydrogen in the cylinder. Using a spark arrestor on the output hose to keep from blowing the jar up you would be hard pressed to even candle a flame let alone put anything measurable in every cylinder 900x a minute cruising down the highway at the speed limit.
@changename59543 жыл бұрын
Great work, but I would recommend moving the connection cable further away from the jar and also isolate it properly, otherwise in case of leakage you get a nice spark triggered hho explosion from the gas forming up under the hood.

The danger lies with the hydrogen and oxygen being in the same jar in the first place. Two jars connected by a water hose at the bottom, the anode in one jar and cathode in the other. Gases are collected seperately and mixed in the carburettor to keep chances of unwanted explosions or fire restricted to a smaller volume and location.

286 kJ/mol is required to electrolyze the water. 241 kJ/mol is released when HHO is burned. This would only make sense if you were running the electrolyzer on its own battery bank that you charged at home. But then you'd have the added weight of more batteries forcing more work on the engine anyway.
@bryanoverbey3 жыл бұрын
The engine is getting power mainly from gas. He’s just adding hydrogen and oxygen to the air intake to get more fuel. So the alternator is producing some fuel essentially
@nicks24373 жыл бұрын
@@bryanoverbey Yeah, but the alternator is spun by the engine. Put more load on the alternator and more fuel is required to run the engine.
@bryanoverbey3 жыл бұрын
@@nicks2437 Yes that is true, but when the car's battery is fully charged the alternator is still spinning with the potential to generate energy. So you are getting parasitic energy loss from turning the alternator anyway. Say that turns out to be 40 Watts of energy to spin the alternator and not generate any energy. Then if you now add this HHO system, you may draw 200 watts to run it, but gain 180 watts from burning it. You no longer have parasitic alternator usage, so you're only burning 20 watts to spin the alternator instead of 40. These are made up numbers, and although I have a B.S. in physics I'm not sure my idea is accurate, but I'd like to find out more..
@nicks24373 жыл бұрын
@@bryanoverbey While that may be true of alternators from decades past that used permanent magnets, modern alternators are designed with electromagnets so that the output can be varied to meet demand. So parasitic loss isn't really a thing anymore. And even if the battery is full the alternator is still powering all your vehicles electrical components. Realistically, if this system was viable for fuel savings then vehicle manufacturers would have incorporated it a long time ago and charged consumers through the nose for it. >"Yeah, it costs an extra $3000 up front but you get that back within 10 years on the fuel savings. And don't forget to only run Ford branded electrolyte to maintain your warranty!"

@@nicks2437 More weight of batteries is harder on the engine? He doesn't need to run a 1,500 cell module battery bud. Lmao!!! The extra weight at MOST needed would be a 12-24 volt series system. Like in a semi truck/tractor-trailer. That would be about 20-30 extra Lbs. Equal to his spare tire and jack. LoL!! Edit: I should also add that I spent 20+ years engineering internal combustion components. I grew up as a heavy duty mechanic. You can get a high output alternator that would deal with the 29 amp draw. 29 amps is not a lot of a draw. It's equal to the A/C compressor at full draw. Do you know the stress of a fully engaged compressor on a motor running? 0.02-3% power loss. And I need to address your alternator tech talk. *NOW ADAYS* alternators are elctro-magnetic? The have been elctro-magnetic for over 80 years. Ever since passenger vehicles switched to 12v from 6v. PS - "If this was a viable and efficient method then it would be manufactured"??? 😑 Were you alive for the Saturn EV1 fiasco? When GM was forced to repossess all of them from people who bought them and drove them? The fuel companies were outraged. How about biodiesel. One of the greatest fuel systems in the world. It is illegal to convert and no manufacturer makes them. They would lose a ton of money. Canola oil internal combustion engines are another issue. A lot of engineers are being monitored just for showing people their designs of canola oil run planes, cars and commercial equipment. The only reason the fuel corporations are all onboard with electric and hybrid is because they started buying up lithium and cobalt mines and operations around the world. So now they make a ton of money even if they DO lose on petroleum fuel sales.

This set up works best on older cars since todays cars computers have O2 sensors which regulate the amount of fuel/air mixture in the cylinders. there is a work around that someone came up with. If you have a gas generator this could work as long as you had enough power to generate the amount of HHO to run it.
@MrShakamuni0111 жыл бұрын
EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injection Enhancer) The EFIE is intercepting signals from the oxygen sensor to the computer and fools the computer by giving it false exhaust readings from the Oxygen sensor.This is necessary because the computer is set up for a regular burn of fuel and compensates for the more efficient and cleaner burn by dumping more gasoline into the engine (until it gets the reading it expects) which ruins your fuel savings. Gasoline burns better (cleaner less waste) with HHO gas because the increase burn temperature . You can buy a EFIE on the internet or if you have the skills you can build one.

@@YNYNYNYNYNYN in theory it works. It absolutely produces hydrogen. If its hooked up correctly and monitored by scan tool data, that is the most definitive proof of if it works or not. If the fuel trim numbers aren't going negative, there's too much O2 in the exhaust so the car will just add the same fuel. I would need this all played out to condemn it. Theres the efficiency of the total thing at play as well. Someone posted some number like it takes 238 joules to produce 200 joules worth of hydrogen. I'm not calling that fact, but infinite momentum/energy has yet to be released to the general public. If I had time and money to donate to this science experiment, I would. I've produced hydrogen off a cell just like this. The yield is small even up to 10 amps. I think the answer to volumetric efficiency of this would be to increase the plates size and numbers. It must take energy to break the water into hydrogen and oxygen. This energy is coming from the alternator. I think the alternator doing its thing as a generator with a load on it, supplying electricity to make the hydrogen, is in turn putting more load on the engine because you don't get something for nothing. This increases the gas mileage but some of the energy to move the car is coming from the burning hydrogen and the system ends up breaking even or possibly worse than using the gasoline alone.

So the 2 issues Ive encountered is 1 : if I have a 5.0l engine idling at 900rpms, then its displacing 4500 liters per min or 75 liters per second... Sure you make hydrogen in the GALLON PER HOUR area of volume/time when you need a GALLON PER SECOND flow rate. A fuel cell the size of a 5 gallon bucket wouldn't come close and that's just at idle let alone under load where BSFC comes into play 2 : the hydrogen fuel causes a lean condition during closed loop o2 air/fuel correction... This makes the ecu/ecm/pcm increase injector pulse width to make up for the false lean conditions. This makes the point moot on any o2 corrected vehicle during closed loop part throttle cruising
@guywithjeep2 жыл бұрын
Also, even if you could produce enough hydrogen, taking into consideration the Sankey flow, where 33% of power is lost to exhaust heat, 29% to the cooling system, 5% in mechanical loss and another 5% to radiation, there's only 28% of combustion used for power. F1 cars barely reach 35% efficiency with millions of dollars in tech. Compare the specific energy density of gasoline vs hydrogen, which hydrogen falls way, way short of gasoline on. It's impossible to achieve efficiency beyond this point with internal combustion engines with gasoline and especially with hydrogen. Then you have to consider the drastic change in flame front speed of the combustion of gasoline vs hydrogen, the engine ignition timing is way off from what would be required of hydrogen combustion. You would experience almost catastrophic pre-ignition.

This means that a system always has the same amount of energy, unless it's added from the outside. In other words the energy that powers the cell comes from the battery which pulls off the alternator which pulls off the motor. Which also means no added gas mileage and means the same gas mileage as not even having the cell hooked up.

@@thetruepetre2771 I'm not sure if you caught in the hundreds of comments where I've explained where the energy comes from. This engine wastes up to 20% of the gasoline. We are not in any way powering the engine with this gas. What we are doing is trying to burn as much of the 20% of the wasted gasoline which is wasted and burns in the catalytic converter. I understand your disbelief. There are hundreds of video showing and proving that HHO does not work. And they are right. Without a vacuum you cannot inject HHO into an engine and see any results at all. It was probably 17 years ago now when we started doing this and we discovered that fact very early on. Unfortunately we had already shared how to do this with many people and some people were disillusioned and thought it worked by squirting it into the carburetor. We proved it did not work and we moved on. When we put this system into the vacuum we had immediate changes in the engine. The smell of the exhaust changed and the catalytic converter remained cool and water began pouring out of the tailpipe. This system was tested by running the engine out of gas multiple times with the cell on and off and we proved it did boost the mileage considerably. We make no claims of over unity. We tell you exactly where the energy comes from and that is the gasoline and not the hho. A more efficient burning of the gasoline is all we are doing. Car makers do not make efficient engines and I think there's a reason. Just imagine if you made a vehicle that burned all of the fuel and it required no catalytic converter. Do you honestly think they can't do that? There's a reason that engines burn dirty. I appreciate your insightful comments and I hope you appreciate mine. its very simple... electrolysis generate's hydrogen and oxygen from water... you feed it into the intake of the engine (since its not liquid like gase thats it) an engine will suck in as much as it needs to run. backfires are easily supressed with a spring top bottle.. backfire = the top pops up release gas then closes.. totatally safe. if I recall nasa use's hydrogen as fuel for the simple fact... what they said... "Hydrogen is the best.. SAFEST FUEL in the world"

@@harleyme3163 First problem, i see here, it is BS. Before you start pissing on me i will explain: 1. This is NOT a fuel cell. It is a standard HHO generator. 2. It costs more to supply energy to this system then to use gasoline. Best electrolysis HHO generators operate at about 70% efficiency. I doubt this home made device is that good. And he would need a few tons of batteries for it to work. If you have that much power in a form of electricity, why convert it into chemical power with 30% loss? Use it directly - inverters have about 98% efficiency. Electric motors are similar with efficiency. 3. Let's assume 2l motor, 4 stroke. So it takes 1l of fuel mixture for one revolution. This little jar wouldn't produce enough mixture to run any engine besides maybe a little few cc toy motor. Yes it may work, but it will have a very lean mixture and no power. That's a beauty of hydrogen, it will work with very low concentration too. 4. If this is a normal gasoline engine, it will get destroyed quickly. Water, different working temperature, different behavior of combustion. Wonderful comparison of combustion gasoline and hydrogen motors was done by channel "Engineering Explained" - "The Difference Between Gasoline And Hydrogen Engines"

For poorly running engines, especially on old vehicles with carburetors, adding hydrogen (and oxygen) gas to the intake can improve combustion, because the gas mixture aids ignition. For newer vehicles with fuel injection in good shape, it isn't going to make much (or any) difference because the fuel-air mixture is carefully controlled and combustion of the fuel is close to 100% by design. You can try this if you want, but there isn't much point unless you have an old vehicle with a carburetor. For fuel injected engines, you're better off testing all your sensors, cleaning the injectors, and generally getting your vehicle running properly instead of using this 'hack'.

99% are missing the point on this technique. Its about how it improves the combustion efficiency in the cylinder because the hydrogen acts like a catalyst for combustion, because it is the fastest moving element in the mixture. It helps to spread the flame front to provide more complete combustion. Hence the mileage improvement. It does not take much hydrogen to enable this to occur.

29A is about 400W. depending on alternator voltage. For this to be practical, the increase in efficiency would have to generate in excess of 400W to be practical. Also, the electrolysis cell in this video is very inefficient as it is subject to huge resistive power losses which do nothing in terms of gas generation - after some time, you're just boiling water, the temperature which is reduced due to the vacuum. The neutral plates I saw do help a bit but do note there is still resistive path between 12V plate and the ground plate. Not only is H2 and O2 going into the engine, so too is water vapour which tends to reduce the efficiency of the burn. Note that excess H2 and O2 is actually considered a loss to the engine because this will never recoup the power that was extracted by the engine to generate that H2 and O2. It would be better if 1. The voltage to the plates were reduced to about 2V, will also need bigger plate area to compensate for lower voltage. Plate spacing can be reduced, but not too much otherwise gas generation will be reduced. 2. The second bottle needs to be higher than the first with its bottom connected by some tubing to return condensed water back to first bottle. 3. The second bottle also needs to be packed full of some type of brass wool which will serve two purposes a. if any flash back occurs, the flame will be extinguished before reaching the main gas production bottle, preventing an explosion b. The brass wool will cool the water vapour to liquid (hopefully) - Note the brass wool needs to be thermally connected to some cold sink. Under vacuum, the boiling point of water is reduced and you want to prevent water vapour getting into your engine. 4. The power is regulated, perhaps if this was fed via a computer program that monitors engine parameters via OBD2 port. No sense in pumping excess H2 and O2 into the cylinder than the amount of fuel in there. This should keep the efficiency of the system over a wider RPM. I am not doubting the increase burn efficiency but am very skeptical. None of the videos I have seen show the vehicle on a dyno with and without the generator so it's kind of hard to believe these guys. Hard to know if some kind of bias is involved. Perhaps they are driving more efficiently with the generator installed and therefore show better fuel economy.

So, if i've got this straight the suggested method for reducing fuel costs it: 1: burn fuel in the car as normal to turn the alternator. 2: draw more current from the alternator than usual. 3: use said current to power a very basic and inefficient electrolysis reaction to produce hydrogen. 4: route that hydrogen back into the engine so that it mixes with the existing fuel. the weird thing is, I would have been certain that my old high school science teacher would have said that to extract more energy from a system you would need to burn more fuel. he also said that in energy terms there's no such thing as a free lunch. So even if both the reaction to produce your hydrogen and the reaction to re-oxidize that hydrogen were 100% efficient you would end up with net 0 joules of energy coming out of the other side. So every single bit of energy loss in the system means you're burning MORE fuel to keep your truck going than if you hadn't added this system at all. In short this "hydrogen fuel cell" (it isn't a hydrogen fuel cell) COSTS HIM MONEY EVERY TIME HE USES IT because it is reducing the miles per gallon on his vehicle. (There's a reason why no one has ever built a power station where they repeatedly convert water to HHO and then back to water in a cycle to get free energy. That's because it wouldn't work)
@bobt75313 жыл бұрын
Car makers are about to if not already releasing HHO cars. It's supposed to be the latest. I do believe the setup will work, and I'm planning on making the same setup. My only concern is the engines internal parts getting rusted. Like the piston rings, valves, etc. Mainly because the engine wasn't designed for water. I'm planning on having some sort of lubrication to the setup to avoid that. Now if the engine was manufactured to keep from getting rusted. I don't think there would be a problem, but may just be the solution to global warming.
@MultiMattRogers3 жыл бұрын
@@bobt7531 Cars fully powered by HHO work very well, that isn't the problem I'm highlighting. The issue is that energy is that electrolysis wastes quite a lot of energy by producing heat, this fact combined with the inefficiencies inherent in a alternator means that you would up burning more fuel with this system. Not less. In physics you don't ever get more energy out of a system than you put in. If energy is released by a chemical change in one direction, it will cost you at least that much energy to change it back to the original state. but there is waste at every stage. burning fuel to produce movement as waste in terms of heat and sound; turning that movement into electricity produces some waste heat and light; using that electricity to generate HHO produces waste heat; and finally burning HHO to produce mechanical movement wastes energy in terms of sound and heat. All you have done in this complicated process is waste the energy that you produced by burning fuel. If you were adding an HHO tank to your vehicle that you filled up at home the story would be different; but this particular system makes no sense.

Water/alcohol water injection systems actually work, they were used on many American fighter planes of WWII and they provided a 20%+ boost when activated for emergency situations. But the original system required a tank, some plumbing and a pump to inject the mixture into your engine. This looks a little sketchy, but it probably works on a limited basis.
