Do you recommend LDF MDF or HDF to be sacrificial board that sits on a table . Also should a rubber gasket sit slightly above black table surface .

The video is about setting up the Vacuum for a Laguna CNC, therefore preparing the table to control the vacuum suction to hold wood panels down onto the table.

Hi, what pipe diameter and pump do you recommend using? I am making a table 1220*2440mm, with 6*6mm grooves, 25mm between grooves. Thank you

Would have been nice if he actually told and showed you where to enter how much you want to take off. Do you do this in a program or do you adjust the Z height?

Hi, when i surface the second side of my spoilboard i lose vacuum for every pass as the board starts to bleed thru ending up with the gasket pushing the board from the vacuum table and giving me a slight leaning surface when done, do you have any advice about how i can avoid this?

@ Despicably Irascible Rapscallion... It's not just to hold down spoilboard. You have to skim off both heat treated surfaces of the MDF (as video shows) then vacuum table pulls the suction THROUGH the MDF. Seems like it would't work but it does. MDF is dense yet very porous once skimmed.

John Crosetti is that right? That's what I was hoping he was getting at but was disappointed when the video ended before he showed the whole purpose of what he was doing.

If the MDF is made porous all over to a vacuum by skimming the surface each side, how is the vacuum held to a smaller piece being cut above? I can't see how zoning with a smaller gasket makes any difference if the vacuum can be pulled through the MDF from outside the gasket? Is it just a very powerful vacuum required?

Using a vacuum table just to hold down a spoil board seems like an awful waste
