The BRUTAL and UNFORGIVABLE Crimes of the JEDI

The Jedi, keepers of the peace, bastions of light and warriors of morality: or at least thats what they want you to believe. A look at the Jedi’s history reveals a startling truth, one that is not so noble or pure, bordering upon the very dark side they sought to destory. Join us as we explore some of the worst atrocities of the Jedi Order, from the war crimes of the Clone Wars, to the destruction of entire planets in the name of peace and the greater good.

Perhaps the most notable and well known reason why the Jedi were not so honourable as it is often believed is because of the many war crimes their members commited. In fact there are so many, an entire video dedicated to this topic is likely needed. Perhaps of greatest note are the Jedi’s methods of “enhcanced Interogation” raising significant moral questions.
A particularly harrowing example of this contradiction is evidenced by Anakin Skywalker's treatment of the Geonosian leader, Poggle the Lesser. Held captive, Poggle becomes the target of Anakin's aggression during physical assault that escalates to a Force choke. The treatment of priosonewrs in this way is highly morally questionable, even if it was for the seeming greater good.
This kind of violent interogation could be excused as it was done by Ankakin Skywalker, a renegade Jedi who ultimately fell to the dark side, thus absolving the Jedi of responsibility. However, it is not solely under Anakin's hand that such actions unfold. This story is further complicated by the involvement of esteemed Jedi council members such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu. In their quest to uncover the whereabouts of a hidden holocron, these Jedi leaders unite their formidable powers to exert an overwhelming Jedi Mind power on the bounty hunter Cad Bane. This coercive strategy teeters on the edge of violating Bane's mental integrity, exerting such force that it threatens to shatter his mind unless he capitulates to their demands. The fact that the Jedi Orders second in command, not only knew about such violent actions, but partook in them, shows just how far the Jedi had fallen.
Another controversial tactic recurrently employed by the Jedi throughout the Clone Wars has sparked considerable debate regarding its ethical implications-specifically, the practice of feigning surrender during combat. This strategy, known in the realms of international law and warfare ethics as "perfidy," directly contravenes the principles laid out in the Geneva Convention.
In one notable instance during the Battle of Christophsis, the series introduces viewers to a cunning ploy orchestrated by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. In an effort to halt the progression of hostilities and buy time, Kenobi orchestrates a ruse of surrender. This deliberate act of deception serves a dual purpose: it momentarily halts the enemy's advance and provides a crucial window for Anakin Skywalker, alongside his newly appointed apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, to undertake a daring mission to disable the Separatists' ray shield.
Another instance of perfidy is executed by Anakin Skywalker in a strategic maneuver above the planet Ryloth. In a bold and desperate gambit, Anakin presents the illusion of surrendering a crippled Venator-class cruiser. This feint deceives the Separatist blockade into allowing the Republic vessel to approach perilously close. In a dramatic culmination, Anakin's ship rams through the enemy lines, annihilating the Trade Federation's command ship in a spectacular explosion and paving the way for Republic forces to deploy ground troops onto the beleaguered planet.

The ethical quandaries surrounding the Jedi's conduct during the Clone Wars extend beyond their interrogation methods and strategic deceptions to encompass the very manner in which their adversaries are combated on the battlefield. A striking example of the moral complexities faced by the Jedi is illustrated in the actions of Ki-Adi-Mundi, a revered member of the Jedi Council. His directive for the clone troopers under his command to deploy flamethrowers against sentient beings starkly highlights the erosion of the Jedi's moral compass amidst the fog of war.

Yes…but I think that’s the point of the Jedi in prequels and I think in legends Luke actually realizes the flaws of the old Jedi and tried to correct, he did in canon too…but he fell back into the same old habits as the Jedi of the past 23:37

@@user-kx3tw1gh8j no…I just think that aside from Anakin turning to the dark side…their were a bunch of other factors that contributed to the Jedi’s downfall outside of Anakin betraying them…the sith had been planning for the destruction of the Jedi and republic for years even before Anakin was born…palpatine just added him in them because he wanted him to be his new apprentice, he was going to do everything he did in the movies even if Anakin wasn’t around.

Because *Leia* was raised by different family from the beginning so they were her real family (not the biological one). In secret, the Empire has been looking for those kids ever since their birthday. If Organa's, who's always been in opposition to the emperor, suddenly adopted kid was parading around with Skywalker as a last name, Empire's agents would've realized it's her and kidnapped or killed her. She didn't want to change it because she probably wanted to honor the name of her family, especially after what happened to Aldeeran, ESPECIALLY that she was a politician like her father - Leia was the youngest senator in the Imperial senate. *Padme.* She couldn't have taken on Anakin's name because they were illegal couple. Not just by Order's standards but also she was a head of state. A noble, who surely, couldn't just marry anyone she wanted and things had to be arranged. It would have been a huge diplomatic blunder if it came out. Only small number of people knew about them. Even if she wanted to take the name, she's died right after the childbirth so "there was no time"

I'd add one more to the list: Jedi Master Sifo Dyas colluded with the Kaminoans to create a slave army. While this was done without the knowledge of the Jedi Council, the Jedi would use that army and commission the cloning of more slaves to win the war against the CIS.

also another reason why the jedi were likely so intense in their collecting of young force sensitives was to keep them not only out of the hands of the sith but all other force orders they knew of so that way they could starve them of new members to continue their force traditions and thus cause them to die out

The jedi stealing children was NOT only confined to the old Sith wars , Yoda stole Luke and Leia. He decided the fate of the twins instead of delivering them to Padme's family . He took it upon himself to give Luke to a couple of strangers , and gave Leia to his friends. Padme's family SHOULD have been given custody of them . Yoda was trash.
