These 4 things is something every UX candidate needs to know about. If you know the things that you'll never be able to affect, then you can free yourself to focus on the ones you can.

Please I would really appreciate a video on the take-home test. That process really annoys me and I personally don't think it's the best approach to hiring someone. Once had a take-home test and a week later find out my design was implemented on the companies landing page and i never got a call from them again

Tbh this is comforting and at the same time, it isn't! I have a job already 4years of exp, but I'm trying to apply for another industry (gaming ux). I always get interviews more than my peers, sometimes for higher positions that I'm qualified for. Seeing that they receive 100/300 applicants means I have potential. But I never get in the end I'm always the second haha. Happened to me for one company dream, I had an on-site interview. After my case study which they liked! I had this on-site interview with 10people everyone liked me. But what happened? The senior designer decided to ask me skill questions that he re-asked from last interview. He got me out of my guard... Of course, I was not prepared. Even HR said before the interview "Don't worry on-site interview is only a cultural meeting to see if you fit! Don't worry". No, it wasn't! Never trust HR, always be prepared to skill questions if they happen.

Yesss!! You've pointed out some really interesting things to keep in mind. We tend to believe that everything it's about us. It's not, we need to chill. I really enjoy all your content. 🙌🏻😎

I had a three, three panel search committee interviews on one day, each lasted an hour, I mean they were back to back. You are right at the end you are too exhausted to impress anybody. I came to the same conclusion you can't beat yourself up. Maybe somebody ate for lunch bad oysters that day. Thank for your insight.

Thank you for this perspective. You can‘t hear that often enough. And yes, please - I really don‘t believe in doing work for free, should I accept such an offer and when, in which part of the hiring process?

I just got rejected after 5 rounds of interviews. I felt I clicked with everyone BUT the CEO... Therefore, I lost the opportunity and got rejected..

50-5000 applicants is a waste of time. Some hiring managers or HR usually see you as a hookup app or IG.. swiping left to right…
