VAGANOVA BARRE CLASS FOLLOW ALONG - Vaganova Ballet Academy 5th grade exam

I just came here from stumbling across a RAD grade 5 exam and was horrified. I have been teaching Vaganova for many years and will always encourage parents and young girls who want to study ballet to make sure they are signing up at a school that has Vaganova training. It's truly the best in the entire world.

RAD grades 1-8 are not aimed at vocational students who want to pursue ballet as their career. Vocational grades are from intermediate foundation - advanced 2. A more fair comparison will be if you look at advanced 1/ advanced 2 syllabus, that is what is required for professional dancers aged 14-15 as shown on the video. But I do agree Vaganova method and school is really good.

These wonderful and talented pupils are hard-working indeed 👏👏👏 and one of my favourite part of their exams is at @ 14:14 when they turn - - and the pupil in the middle ballet barre 2nd from right (on the right side of my screen) has very good body control as well as great upper body movements. Thanks much to @ Vaganova Dream for sharing. Thank you to all the young dancers 🙏 ❤️ and to the great pianist too.

And I believe she’s the only one in Mariinsky and still there. The one on on the right centre barre did get in but now back in Japan.
