Robotic Animals Exibition : • ROBOTIC ANIMALS EXIBIT... The Vaikom Beach Festival is an integral part of the annual Vaikathashtami celebrations at the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple in Kottayam District, Kerala. This year, the festival is scheduled to culminate on November 23, 2024.

The Vaikathashtami festival spans twelve days, featuring a rich array of cultural events, including dance recitals, Kathakali performances, music concerts, and elaborate processions. The final day is marked by a grand procession where the thidambu (replica of the presiding deity) is carried on elephant back, accompanied by processions from nearby temples.

In preparation for the festival, authorities have implemented extensive measures to ensure the safety and enjoyment of attendees. This includes deploying 550 police personnel, setting up control rooms for the police, fire brigade, and excise departments, and installing 45 CCTV cameras throughout the temple premises. Additionally, the Health Department will provide 24-hour emergency services with ambulances and medical teams on standby.

The festival also features a vibrant beach carnival, offering a variety of entertainment options such as amusement rides, food stalls, and cultural performances, providing a festive atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
For those planning to attend, Vaikom is approximately 40 km from Kottayam and is renowned for its Shiva Temple. The festival typically occurs in the months of November-December and lasts for 12 days.
