Trestle still my favorite bike park but Vail is fun. Wish they would build more as it seems it has the same style pitch as Angel fire! Angel Fire is my second favorite and close to colorado...

That section with the quick left and right and the flicker from the light coming through the trees was wicked. It looked like an old-time movie but with color. Sic ride.

I actually didn't know Vail had good dh trails till your vid last year introduced me. Fun place to shred indeed!

I have some old footage of us riding Vail. We rode "Old Nine Line". It looked like that trail under the lift you guys rode. That sucker was steep. This was fun trying to identify some of the trails we rode in their original form. So sick.

Well done! Love Vail! Always have...Something about that red dirt and aspens. I'm pretty sure you could do multiple "Vail Follow Cam Fridays" to include all the goodness. Oops. No, never mind. Go to Winter Park :D LOL Actually CB/Evolution is another park I'd say could use a full DH bike. Thanks Nate! Happy Trails!
@natehills93883 жыл бұрын
Do you ride a DH bike at Winter Park?
@topspot48343 жыл бұрын
@@natehills9388 I don't but I also don't ride Banana Peel so ... I actually thought Trestle was perfect for an enduro bike. Lotta fun intermediate flow trails (Happy Camper, Paper Boy) and most of the more popular black ones (Rainmaker, Cruel & Unusual, 36 Chambers) you definitely don't need a DH rig.

Oh sweet Vail, Colorado! I lived there for 5 years starting in 2001. Never went mountain biking😐 I will have to go back and reclaim the glory!

I enjoy anything MTB related, but no doubt about it Nate's channel is the best. His first Dirt Merchant video was when I found out DH riding was even a thing. I like Seth too, but nothing makes me want to actually get up and get out more than Nate's videos. Been to Sedona, Trestle and Angel Fire (I'm from PA) all cause I first saw em here.

DH fork on an SB 165?? I’m curious how it feels/geometry effect. Can you put a 29 up front? Killer ride! Makes me want to travel more!
@natehills93883 жыл бұрын
The Boxxer is reduced to 190 and it feels great. Maybe a half degree slacker than stock. Feels great. You can mullet any bike if you want to.

Nate if you were coming from the East Coast with your boys for 4-5 days, what park would you pick?
@natehills93883 жыл бұрын
You can hit them all if you are here for 5 days. Each one is good for about a day of action.
@scotth55033 жыл бұрын
I took a friend here who's an expert skier but had never been mountain biking before. Don't remember the trail, but he gave up after a single lap on a blue. These trails seem significantly more groomed from what I recall a few years ago.
@topspot48343 жыл бұрын
Haven't been but read Vail Resorts has spent and plans to spend a considerable amount on the bike park over the next 5 years ago that'd make sense. I believe the number was around $20 mil so it's pretty significant

Does the 165 with DH fork make it feel like a true DH bike or slightly less?
@natehills93883 жыл бұрын
As the rear has 165mm of travel, it feel like slightly less. Which it is. That said, it is all I need at Vail and feels markedly more stable than my trail bikes with the big fork.

Awesome video! i was out there 1st part of july on my new Hightower. I wanted to do Old 9 Line but the entrance had me a little concerned that my Hightower with 160/150 travel wouldn't be capable enough lol well at least that's how i rationalized it. PMT was such a fun trail. Thats the one with big tables right?! good riding Nate!
@natehills93883 жыл бұрын
Old 9 is definitely safer and more fun on a DH rig, haha.

@@natehills9388 Slow???... he was so fast he just barreled through the jank, hence "Janker." My kind of riding. Gotta love the personalities that come out the trail. He needs to hang a set of balls from the saddle.... he would enjoy the wheel rub I suspect.
