The question is that if at the time of death you have no desire left then you can achieve moksha (liberation) then what about the desires you had during your life? Do you also get liberation from those desires as well? A rope if burnt from any side will break. A person who has detached himself can cut the tree of life from its roots. Till the time the tree is there, it will have fruits, leaves and branches. But if you have cut the tree from its roots, then nothing will be left. Nature will eat all of it.
If at the time of your death you are at peace no matter where you are and you don’t have any attachment to life or you do not have any other desire. Neither you are thinking about what will happen to your family or others. If at that time, you are at complete peace then a yogi can fix their life force at the eyebrows and stay established there. Then there is no return. Then the tree is cut. If at that time there is any fruit with desire left on that tree and it falls then its seed can generate another tree. So if there is any desire left, it can give birth to many other desires and you won’t be able to get out it ever.
