Vajrapani is an enlightened Buddhist deity, or Bodhisattva, who embodies the infinite energy of the liberated mind. Vajrapani is the “indestructible power of the Buddha” - helping us overcome the delusions, poisons, and attachments that prevent our progress.
Through recitation of the mantra “Om Vajrapani Hum”, one can learn to access the boundless and fiery energy which Vajrapani emits.
Along with Manjushri (embodiment of Wisdom), and Avalokitesvara (embodiment of Compassion), Vajrapani is one of the three original Bodhisattvas to surround the Buddha as a means of protection and guidance. Vajrapani surrounds a halo of flames, which symbolizes the powerful and intense transformation that occurs during spiritual awakening, and he holds a thunderbolt in his hand, which represents his swift ability to cut through delusion.
Use this mantra when you are seeking strength, empowerment, resilience, or when you need replenishment of mental, physical, or spiritual energy.
金剛手菩薩心咒：嗡班匝巴納吽。
長期的持咒，以金剛手為本尊可以消除病痛、妖魔、邪障等，令心想事成。而在密續中也有記載，修持金剛手、唸誦咒語，會恆常受到金剛手的保護，障礙、病痛消除，功德無量無邊。
對金剛手菩薩生歡喜心，無始以來的罪業頓時消除，隨金剛手菩薩前往極樂世界、楊柳宮等清淨剎土。常持誦金剛手菩薩的名號、心咒，能得到它的傳承。若能經常憶念金剛手菩薩，即使轉生惡趣中，一旦想起他的名號，或者觀想他的身相，也可以立即從中解脫。
　　金剛手顯忿怒相時，是藏傳佛教中一面二臂三目、威猛大力的金剛手菩薩；不顯忿怒相時，就是西方三聖中的大勢至菩薩。漢傳佛教和藏傳佛教都有西方三聖，儘管顯現的形相不太相同，但其發願和威力無有差別。因此，我們活著的時候，應常念誦金剛手菩薩的心咒--“嗡班匝巴納吽”。如果因緣成熟、條件具足，最好能請一些金剛手菩薩的佛像或照片，供在佛堂裡，經常看。
《佛說一切如來真實攝大乘現證三昧大教王經‧金剛界大曼拏羅廣大儀軌分第一之一》曰：「爾時世尊即入一切如來智三昧金剛三摩地，受用一切如來戒定慧解脫解脫知見。從大智方便大精進，起大智三昧，轉妙法輪。廣為一切普盡無餘諸有情界，拔濟利益，為一切主宰普令獲得適悅快樂，乃至得一切如來平等智通最上大乘現證三昧殊勝悉地等。即以一切如來成就金剛杵，授與一切如來大轉輪王一切佛身寶冠繒帛所灌頂者普賢大菩薩雙手掌中。然後一切如來，即為立名號【金剛手】，以金剛手灌頂法而為灌頂。」
