I made this three-month retreat at Adisham Priory in Sri Lanka on Butterfly Mountain with the Benedictine Monks there. St. Sebastian's black and withered-up finger was kept in a gold and glass casket in the little chapel. It is an incredibly beautiful place, built by a Scotsman in the tea trade, with good food and a few retreat rooms. If you are in India, you might write or email them and see if they could host you for a retreat. They could use the money. Adisham is on youtube.

This mantra is missing the syllables "hum phet" at the end. It's pronounced like 'pay-t', with a hard 't' sound. Tibetans just say 'pay'. Traditional Tibetan advice is to pronounce mantras the same way your guru did when he gave it to you. However, at the present time, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa RImpoche are advising to pronounce the Sanscrit syllables in the traditional "correct' way they are pronounced in India. This is because time and distance in ancient times and TIbetan accents have slightly changed pronunciation of some syllables. The current situation of Tibetan diaspora into India again allows some corrections to occur without disrespect to the traditional Tibetan pronunciations. Variation does occur over the Buddhist world depending on native languages, so don't worry too much. Devotion and concentration are the most important things, but being correct is also important. This is because Sanscrit is a sacred language and its sounds vibrate in the human nervous system in such a way as to produce a blessing and healing.

No one “steals” Buddhism. Siddhartha Gautama Buddha would think that’s absurd especially since dharma asserts a kind of universality that cannot be bound by region. Learn what the dharma actually is and you’ll get the answer to your question

It’s not that Tibet stole it. Also Mahasiddhas like Marpa made grand journeys from Tibet to India on foot to learn Buddhism from Naropa and Kukurippa. Tibet was destined to carry the lineage of the indian gurus.

Another thing, they call it the 100 syllable mantra, however, when I counted I got 102 on one and 104 on another, then I found one that suggests 100 but it was none of the ones I learned for chanting. I would think you have thoughts on this? Oh wait, I just counted yours. It is 100! Nice. So I have to learn it.

Sometimes we use Hum Phat and Sometimes Hum Phat Swa Ha.. That should be done under the guidance of Guru, we do that for sadhana. This is good for both sadhana and meditation 🙏🏽

That’s the Buddhist way of pronunciation, स्वः in Sanskrit will be pronounced as Swaha but in Buddhism they pronounce it as Soha

At line 10 of the mantra in your description it is "cittim śre yaḥ ku ru" while it is "cittaṃ śrīyaṃ kuru" in Wikipedia. What is the difference between "cittim" and "cittam"? Waiting for your answer.
