I was 14 working my first job in the mall, and a lady walked in, I asked her what in the world is that lovely perfume?! She said Sunflowers. On my break i went to the perfume store there a few shops down and bought it instantly. I found it at my baby cousins house the other day and remembered it and she said, yea I got it because it reminded me of you. I said when you were 7 years old you remembered what perfume I wore!? Hi ladies, that La vie est Belle bottle Was actually designed im the 40s and they just never had a perfume. They thought they should use it with until the original perfume came along. That’s the story that the Lancome rep told HSN when they were on that channel promoting the perfume.

I love it when you two do a video together. The first perfume I bought myself was Lou Lou by Cacherel. My mum also gave me a bottle of Elizabeth Arden’s red door, and everyone would comment on it. This was in the late 80s so I don’t wear them anymore but I loved them back then. In my 20s my signature was Calvin Klein Eternity, and in my 30s I bought Gucci Envy and it was my signature for many years.

January 2020 I lost my dad. Then the pandemic followed. That year I wore L'imperatrice layered with one spray of Mon Guerlain. The combination brought tears to my eyes as for some reason it reminded me of watermelon and sun, my childhood and happy summers with my whole family around. ❤ The last perfume I gifted my dad was Blue Jeans. Ah I must revisit Sunflowera. That was one of my uni perfumes back in late 90s. This week I've been wearing Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. It's so so delicious and its helping me.keep cool as its so hot in London right now. I think it was Green Tea, Sunflowers and Tommy girl that I used to wear around that time. And Body Shop tobacco flower. All of them are bangers.

Maison Alhambra has a dupe for the LA Vie Est Belle Intensement on Jomashop. I have never smelled this version but I just blind bought the Maison Alhambra version and it is BEAUTIFUL. I too am a long time lover of Sunflowers. I always have a bottle of that and True Love by Elizabeth Arden in my collection. Old school classics in my opinion.

Fun fact? I’ve never smelled Sunflowers! Hard to believe really. Now I’m intrigued. A really interesting thing I learned following some layering threads is using Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist with summer fragrances like Lust for Sun, Liz Claiborne’s Mambo, Alien Goddess (etc) really adds a beautiful sparkle, and fluffiness that I ADORE! I bought Byblos very early in my fragrance journey and I liked it at first, but testing it recently I couldn’t get past the hairspray vibe which surprised me! JHAG is definitely a divisive house, think it’s their ISO E / Ambroxen that people sensitive to it find off putting. I absolutely ADORE Vanilla Vibes!! I go anosmic to it but it’s been one of my most complimented fragrances; really radiates with body heat. Ode to Dullness is gorgeous too! I wish their Pear, Inc was better on me, but it fades soooo fast.. and I love pear 😢 And for people who may find Alien a bit too indolic / strong, try Armaf’s Sacrifice for Her; it’s like a fresher version and really beautiful. Had to let it macerate but it was so worth it.

i started wearing Egyptian Goddesses by Auric Blends while in middle school in 1993. i’ve never had to pay more than 12 bucks per roll-on and everything i own smells like it.. but several years ago many bottles started to be very faint and hardly have a smell. i’m still so disappointed and don’t really like other versions of egyptian musk scents 😢 i haven’t thought about Sunflowers in ages but can immediately remember it soon as you held it up. i really enjoyed this video and also had me thinking of how my very best friend smelled throughout the years before she passed..thanks for sharing that 🖤
