HOWEVER, It seems that when a commenter/host/guest uses a newspaper article, opinion piece or editorial to illustrate a particular opinion or exposé, they cite a NY, Washington DC or other East Coast paper. I live in Washington State, having lived in Oregon until age 55. I've never known anyone who regularly reads those papers (A few WSJ readers, excepted). I'll bet all those states in the middle of the country have few people who regularly read those papers either, unless it's specifically related to their carrers. Can listeners be told how to access a specific article online? Perhaps a link in the description would help. I've been interested in reading or at least purusing many articles, but I am disabled & retired so ANYTHING I purchase, including a birthday card, a pair of socks, a new writing pen, etc means that cost must eliminate an expenditure on food or medicine. Thank you for your lively presentations and interesting guests.

The spokesperson for Kamala Harris does not know what he's talking about. Medicare does not pay for long-term care in a nursing home. Nursing home costs range from about $150,000 to over $300,000 a year. It has bankrupt many families. Medicaid does cover it, but the person that's under Medicaid has to be completely destitute and relinquish all her assets . There are State programs in some states that cover long-term care, but again you have to be destitute.Also like A.L.T.E.C.S state program in Arizona they take almost all of the parent social security money and leave them with less than $100 a month.The person has to be dirt, poor and destitute. The only home care that is covered under Medicare is temporary for several weeks. I know because I had my mom under that care system and eventually you have to put your parent/parents in a nursing home which is not covered by Medicare.
