Beautiful aerial drone footage of the first run of the 2024 season for the Vale of Rheidol Railway; the weather was on our side!
The magnificent restored locomotive runs from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge in the Cambrian Mountains, following the delightful Afon Rheidol, a river that snakes its way from the Nant - y - moch reservoir all the way to Abersytwyth.

Interesting. What fuels the burners? Typically a coal car is behind the locomotive.

I'm fairly sure they run on coal still? I can only assume they have internal coal bunkers, rather than a wagon behind the engine.

They run on coal with coal bunkers on each side of the cab
