Valencia High School Parking Lot Documentary

We made this in 2004 (my senior year) at Valencia High School.
Documentary is about the school parking lot. 2004 seniors were supposed to be able to get new parking structure but there were constant delays and we never got to use it. Therefore, we had to park on the streets and walk... It's funny how we all complained then, but parking is even worse in college.
This was like my first video project. At the time, I used to want to be a programmer/html/designer, but after taking a visual basic class there, I really hated it. I ended up transferring to a Media Production class, like during the last quarter, and this documentary was the only thing I made in that class. It was like a last minute thing, but I really enjoyed it and that's when I decided that's what I wanted to pursue in college as well.
We had really cheap consumer homevideo cameras and outdated PC's with cheap Ulead video editing software. Our school was pretty ghetto. I ended up editing at home with iMovie. (I didn't know how to use FCP at the time). I think what's kind of impressive, even at the time, is I also used a subtitle software and got into the whole complicated encoding thing for the principal interview scene.

I did not like Ms. Walker.... that class - bad memories. A lot of people like Ms. Cecil; I never had her as a teacher. I had Mr. Miller and he was cool.

Haha, that's because this is the Valencia High School in Placentia. There's two Valencia High Schools in California.
