Was there even old and historical has parts of it with a bit of a modern feeling. Big malls etc yet quaint cozy coffee shops and storefronts typical of European places.

Notice that the difference between a pedestrian zone and the street/highway with a lot of cars is really contrasting. Although the architecture is not that different.
