It’s basically an old tradition that the Gracies had before a proper belt system was introduced. The students would wear white, teachers would wear blue, and masters would wear navy blue.

why they use another type of gi? thats not a regular gi of bjj that i know, im new in this.

The Valente Brothers seem to use a kimono that is reminiscent of the old Gracie kimonos from the 1900’s. It is reminiscent of the old grandmasters while at the same time differentiating the Valente Brothers from other sport based jiu-jitsu schools. It also doesn’t allow for all of the same grips that sport kimonos are made for, thus forcing the individual to be less reliant on them.
