I saw this discussion earlier today and it’s not too far fetched. Joanna vs Valentina for the 125 title at UFC 230. It makes a lot of sense for a number of reasons. 1) UFC 230 still has no main event and some people seem to think that Jon Jones is gonna fight on that card, I don’t believe that because he still hasn’t been officially handed a suspension from USADA. And if he were to fight in November all of USADAs credibility will be thrown out the window 2) Joanna and Valentina are 2 of the top women in mixed martial artists in the UFC right now. 3) Both of these ladies have a history in Muay Thai and I believe Valentina is 3-0 against Joanna in Muay Thai bouts AND these two have been open to bouts with each other in the past more specifically at UFC 213 when Nunes pulled out the day of the fight Joanna offered to step in on a few hours notice regardless of putting her (then undefeated) record on the line. 4) Joanna vs Valentina could possibly be the best women’s mixed martial arts fight of all time. Yes, I know we have to see Nunes vs Cyborg, but this fight could be the best ever. Joanna would be at a new weight class with a less difficult weight cut, we may see the best version of her. This division was made for Valentina and it’s hers to defend. And like I said before, UFC 230 has no main event, it’s at MSG. They always do something good for that card. And I know that Joanna vs Valentina isn’t gonna knock anyone’s socks off, but it’s still a great fight. I may be going out on a limb, but I think we may see Joanna vs Valentina at that UFC 230 card

Emmanuel Madera I agree, Valentina is so technically sound and so well rounded. When she submitted Pena, it blew my mind. Pena’s strength is on the ground and she’s very dangerous on the ground. And when Valentina hit that arm bar I was going crazy. And when she hit That arm bar I said to myself okay she’s more than a Muay Thai striker and she is a complete mixed martial artist and she’s got a ground game that needs to be respected at all times
