Valentina may come off as somewhat bitter here, but I think she has a right to take a victory lap. I saw so many comments before the fight saying that Valentina was too old, that she should retire, that Grasso had her number. All of those ideas were proven wrong. She didn't just beat Grasso, she totally dominated her (50-45x3) and made her look bad. Valentina reaffirmed her legacy as one of the all-time greats.

yeah i saw all that also.. and i was honestly convinced that they were evenly matched, i was dead wrong.. it was incredible to watch Valentina absolutely dominate Alexa, outstruck her an dominated on the ground.. the casuals and Alexa simps were complaining but it was an impressive peformance to get her belt back 💯 it showed they were never evenly matched, Alexa got lucky in the first and gifted a draw in the second.. Thank you to both fighters for an exceptional trilogy. Valentina showcased her wrestling beautifully and made me realize that Alexa's BJJ was overrated. I didn't think Alexa would be unable to compete if the whole fight was on the ground. Valentina went all-in on this strategy and made sure that at least 15 minutes of the fight would be on the floor; paid-off huge.

If we’re thinking strategically, like Valentina was the whole fight, someone watching the fight would think Val is losing on the exchanges because she’s going for the takedown. Val isn’t free balling it in the ring. She doesn’t care what grasso is throwing cuz she’s taking her down as soon as Grasso throws it. So when someone sees the fight in that way, we have to give them the strategy breakdown so they can see it the way Val intended
