The scorecards for their first fight showed Alexa winning the first round, Valentina winning rounds 2 & 3, and I'm not sure how the 4th round was going in their eyes. The scary thing for Valentina is that it took Alexa literally 1 second to grab her back after throwing a sloppy kick. I truly think this fight could go either way. Valentina barely scraped by against Santos, too, so she could be on the decline. We shall see!

I pick Valentina for the upcoming fight. Yes, she doesn't come off telegenic in the way she says she 'was winning the last fight.' But I don't think she will make the same mistake. And she will have adjusted. I personally think that Valentina will do her old formula: start on the feet and take it to the ground and pound. She was doing it pretty well all through the previous fight. I don't see why people think that it was a sign of panic. It's her go-to move.

When I watched this fight live I swore I thought Alexa was piecing her up. I rewatched it the other day and Valentina was winning the majority of the time striking. I think my perception was so surprised Alexa was staying in the fight that I actually believed she was winning. Watching it back without the shock Valentina was winning this fight. Crazy how that perception effects us without even realizing it. Should be a good Noche!

Randy Couture was still winning mma titles at 37 and Boxer Bernard Hopkins was collecting belts well past 40. Is Shevchenko of the same cloth? We will see.
