@joseuribe9273 when she was talking about not wearing wigs anymore and how much she enjoys her long hair...it reminded me of when my ex gf came out to me as trans, and one of my first questions was "I bet you really like growing your hair out, huh?" as she was crying but that made her smile and exclaim "YES!" go back to that part in the video where she talks about her hair...she barely has the words to describe how it feels to her. that's gender euphoria; that's so beautiful.

What I love about it her is that when I first came out in 1995 in San Antonio, Texas, I remember going out to the gay bars and seen drag queens for the first time. What I noticed right away was at all the Latina drag queens had “white” last names. Such as Andrews, Fairchild, Michaels, Monroe, Crawford, Carrington, etc. And I thought to myself why would they pick a white last name when as it is, Spanish last names(At the time) we’re nonexistent in show business and even so in drag. So to see the fact that from the jump, Valentina not only embraced, but showcase her Latin culture is something that I will always have the utmost respect for.

I started sobbing as I was watching this all of you Queens are such an inspiration. You don't know how much good you actually do by telling your stories I started watching RuPaul's Drag Race when my son was really little. He loved watching it with me he was in very many ways just a typical little boy. He was into cars, transformers, video games. He hated Sports he wasn't The Stereotype people like to paint of queer children. My now ex-husband was extremely homophobic. He pushed away a lot of my friends who were gay. I've forgot to mention I was in the beauty industry for over 35 years as a hair and makeup artist. My gay friends weren't comfortable around him either he used to get so pissed when he saw me watching drag race with my son My son came out to me at 13 as bye and then as gay at 15. When he came out to me the first time he was visibly shaking as he told me he was bisexual. I put my arms around him and said, "Hey, can you help me make dinner?" He was so relieved, that he burst into tears, and started laughing. "Is that it, Mama?" I told him that he is who he is, and that doesn't change his DNA or the fact that he will always be my child. He asked me not to say anything to my husband. When he fully came out 2 years later, it was the same conversation. In fact he was so confident and felt so safe so safe with my reaction that he decided to tell his dad that same night. Unfortunately my ex told him that he would never accept it and that as far as he was concerned, my son was a pedophile just like all (insert gay slur here) My son was crushed and so was I. Needless to say I have divorced that man. My son and I are extremely close. He has also had a great support system of very close friends and their families. My family members love him And don't see him as being Any one other than who he is Period And that's the way it's supposed to be period I cry when I hear the pain That's such beautiful Souls go through just To be allowed to live their lives authentically. Why can't we just leave people alone? Why do people have so much hate for a man in a dress when they worshiped one their whole lives? I want all of these beautiful Queens to be safe and be allowed to continue to share their art and their beauty and their Joy with the world.
