Seen the sign hundreds of times. Went to West Sattes Elementary back in the "70's I ran around this part of Nitro as a kid. Great memories!

I grew up on Valentine's Circle...... Unfortunately that is not the original sign.... The original was much larger and actually better done.... A darker red/marron... It was wood (as is the current) and did not hold up over time. I want to say the current one was put up in the mid to late 80s after a year or so of none being their...... That was my bus stop growing up....

So the poles and planter box were just there until a new sign was built. Pretty cool. It wouldn't surprise me if the past resident at that property re did the sign or the city re did it. Love to find out the rest of the story. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
