How long can you leave those cake on the table before you serve it? And is it safe to eat if you leave it with out fridge

Hi, sometimes they use dummy cakes for display purposes only the main cake is still in the fridge and waiting for them to serve , if this kind of cake can atleast 3-4 hours on the table with a cool environment because this cake is only covered by buttercream unless you covered it with chocolate ganache , yes it safe to eat until the following days but not too long
