check out Valentino spring/summer 1993 it's plenty of gorgeous Afroamerican models, classy, great walk and diverse. The collection is inspired by Africa so probably the choice but during the 90s many designers - Gianfranco Ferre', YSL, Christian Lacroix among the others hired many models of colour for their collections...

The 80s was a very diverse time whereas mid 90s was not due to the heroin chic look which is a very Caucasian aesthetic
