Pier Paolo is doing wonders at Valentino. Their last Collections were absolutely magnificent and this one is no exception. The details and the amount of work that went on each of these stunning looks is just unbelieveable. He's really enhancing the DNA of the house which is very elegant and poolished yet with a very artistic contemporary touch which I absolutely adore. I loved the huge raffia hats, very couture.The short beaded cocktail dresses were stunning as well as some of the printed looks and of course the last long ones who closed the show. Really beautiful.

Probably the best Valentino collection to date. Couture elements infused with an effortless ready to wear vibe. The cactus backdrop made way for that California inspired mood felt at so shows this season. Opening the show with a parade of black and then moving into more detail and more color. This was absolutely phenomenal. I know this wasn’t the soundtrack from the show but it made a great paring with the walk and yes the casting was great. Adut is gorgeous and that was the best Kristen McMenamy looked in ages. Happy to see her back. Bravo 👏🏾

Yea, the camera and editing are pretty bad...the point of seeing the runaway is to view the movement of the clothes as the models walk. Because even if this is art, it's still something that's meant to be used on humans that live.

I am always mesmerized by Pierpaolo Piccoli's work for Valentino. With complete Creative Direction of the entire label, it is amazing that he keeps on producing work that is absolutely amazing, and pleasing to the eye. This collection is beautiful, with some techniques and styles used for the Haute Couture collections brought in, and built upon, its an endeavor to attract a larger demographic, and still be current with the season. The use of logomania is very BOLD, stylish, and tasteful.The variety of colors, and trends will do great commercially. His well trained and keen eye on art, and full diversity of beauty shines through. Valentino has been able to move swiftly with the times, and yet still manage to keep the house's historic aesthetics, and Pierpaolo's DNA. I am a number one fan of of his work. Bravo!

I genuinely feel the labels ascension to fashion iconism began when Piere Paolo embraced his true-love for Valentino Garavani's work. Starting with the couture collection that showcased the undulating Philip Treacy headpieces. The love and respect that P.P has for the founder of this house has developed over time and only now are we beginning to see the sheer force of that relationship. These clothes, the colours and the music(original available on the website) are supremely well thought out. And as Mr.Garavani said in 'The Last Emperor' when asked what women want ' They want to be beautiful'. That Mr.Piccioli is what you continue to give us. BRAVA!

Im sorry, I couldn't even finish the show. I literally stopped 6 minutes into viewing because I had to get this out. THIS IS FASHION! THIS IS LUXURY! THIS IS A TRUE DESIGNER! Valentino under Pierpaolo Piccoli is the saving grace of fashion. We can just smile at viewing what he does with this house. For what is at the end of the day unbelievably expensive clothing, Valentino is a label where you will gladly pay the price of a mortgage for an item or two because its just freakin worth it! Everything is so detailed, folded, embellished, loosely tailored, this man knows what the hell he's doing. Street wear "designers/stylist" and rock star clothing designers do have their place in fashion (i guess), but artistry like this will ALWAYS reign in the world of fashion. BRAVO VALENTINO! You are a delight.

Gisa W Slonim usually for show they do some extravagant pieces, just for show .. later they will change it to wearable.. but rest of the collection is qiute wearable.. better than Gucci for example.. his collections lately are just for the show.. in shops all changes

Painting out of darkness. Or painting in the dark is something I read about some artists that begin with a dark canvas. That’s how Spring begins. Overcoming the darkness of Autumn and Fall. To me, that’s how this show began. I was a little perplexed when I saw so much darkness walking down the runway. Then my eyes woke up when I saw some grey in the mix. I was interested. Little by little spring awoke. Then Summer exploded. Wonderful. Just wonderful. I wish I was a girl so I could wear the entire line. Correction, I wish I was a rich girl so I could wear it all. As a gay male I’ll have to W8 until I’m reincarnated into a hot rich girl. Hopefully an heiress. LOL.

It is a great show along with Chanel's my favourites of the season, though is it really a SS collection? or a AW?, so much fabric, the length of the gowns, beautiful but not very summery or mediterranean summer, maybe clearly targeting their Middle-Eastern and Russian clientele, because of the raffia hats I knew it was a SS collection. Great collection.

I love the fantasy, I really do....Pier Paolo designs clothes that contessas wear to elegant parties at mansions in secret, picturesque locales. However, his strength is also a bit of a weakness in my opinion. Pier Paolo is the definition of a designer who makes clothes that they *think* women want to wear, versus what they necessarily want to wear. I question the practicality and versatility of so many of these pieces. They are stunningly gorgeous, but how sellable are they? They make for a fantastic show, but how many {unaltered} designs are going to wind up in stores? I think it’s become apparent that Maria Grazia’s influence was that of an editing eye. She’s criticized for adulterating a hallowed house, but her point of view is rather important in the industry. Where is the compromise between fashion with a capital F and fashion with a capital $?

I see where you're coming from and I don't know how applicable this is in other regions but his designs at Valentino are incredibly popular among women who adhere to modest forms of dress and I can bet you that the first black looks will be bought in the black and maybe a few more colours and will fly off the shelves of a department store concession like the one at Harrods in Knightsbridge. I think if one wants to argue the practicality and versatility of the pieces you must understand the context behind an individuals decision to own these looks: It's for a lady who lunches, a Saudi royal or prominent public figure in any middle eastern country perhaps? Her life revolves around attending events and being seen. She'll be photographed a lot and she wants comfortable, chic, (possibly modest) and incredibly well made clothes and this ticks all the boxes and we haven't even reached the couture price bracket. Lest we also forget the Mayhoola acquisition of the brand... This is very on the ball and more importantly for them, on the money 🤑

alook somelooks I come from a western perspective, so I don’t presume to speak from someone else’s point of view. I for one appreciate modesty in elegant clothes and I find people are sexier when they leave some things to the imagination. I suppose I just question the versatility of some of the volumes, feather details and large scale prints. Almost every garment is absolutely gorgeous, and would make an impact at an event, but for general, day to day versatility, there’s not much there.

Oddly enough, I'm probably less active this season than I was last season.....I tend to be optimistic about collections (where so many people want to hate them before even watching them), but this season has been relatively uninspiring to me, so I haven't been encouraged to give my opinion as much. I don't have a blog, I generally just comment when I'm not working, which isn't too often, so I don't think I'd have the time to maintain a blog in a way I should. Thank you for your words, though.
