I don't know why they called this movie a flop, I have watched it twice and enjoyed it both times. I never knew the model Cara Delevingne acted in a movie before, but she was good in this one. I also like the aliens with the pearls which they use for everything. It would be nice to live like them, peace and harmony.

ive literally seen this movie soo soo soo many times, cant even count them, but i gotta say, every time, i see something new, like the stablishing shot for Alpha, i had to watch it agian to really grasp the details and all the stuff thats goin on basically in every frame of this movie

3:50 that is definitely Feng Zhu's illustration. Now i know why he was hired for this film. the Alpha design is so chaotic, it matches with Zhu's art style XD

I saw this in a theatre. Now I am going to indulge myself with a good whiskey and watch it again. I have, among other things, read Valerian for...counting 45 yrs. CGI made my childhood imaginations shared with people. Sadly part 2 is on hold because of the corona. I hope we shall meet again! (My god, these are NERDiest things I ever said!)

The visual effects were outstanding. Thought every character choice was excellent, but the chemistry was like a cup of coffee that’s been left out too long. He was like a male dog sniffing for it and she seemed like she considered him fully stuck in the friend zone. Someone else said brother and sister, wouldn't argue with that either.

I'll agree with others, I like the movie, I've watched several times, but... the lead actors had no chemistry. I think that's part of what made this move less successful than it should have been. I'm not gonna bother looking up their names, the girl was absolutely gorgeous, so maybe replace the guy for the next movie. If we get one.

look guys acting is less essential when it comes to sci-fi fantasy...all these actors/actresses are acting on blue/green screenbasically, they're acting in front of mirror with no response from others(basically looking yourself in the mirror acting with no one to respond to or no one giving you reactions of good or bad acting...)so cut the bullshit about acting.... what's real interesting about this movie is about similarities of old cartoon books and movies....especially one called "Light Years" - haven't hear of it? do your home work and find out before you react to the movie...what luc-bessen should have do was to acknowledge renee leloux and Mobius...oh also Masamune Shirow renee leloux did "light Years" - great retro cartoon in which Valerian has many similarities....but being valerian started in the 60s and light years movie was in the 80s , who came first? "chicken or the egg"....or "egg or the chicken"
