Mark Ronson actually said in an interview that he, Amy and the whole band all preferred this over the other version; but he put the other version out because it was more "pop-py". *Also interesting facts:* Mark has never heard Valerie until Amy suggested to cover it. As everyone was about to pack up their stuff and leave the room, Mark said "Let's just do one more take with the drumbeat" and that last take was the "pop-py" version.

But, I have been out here for two plus years now. People are trying to help me. But, there is so much worse stigma with Corona 19, that I almost want to find a small corner of the world and never return. I'm healthy. The last thing I came down with was, cellulitis. Doctor said I have no blood born diseases and no viruses of any kind. I'm a Gay man. So hearing I am not sick in any way made me happy, no end. All I ask of you, dearest Sara, is to pray for me to God the most high. Pray that this will all go away and I can get off the street finally. And get into a studio stat. The clock is ticking and I have a lot to say. For you I wish, clear horizons and my your journey here on Earth be free from incident. Peace.

This was the first version we cut. It truly is the Dap-Kings sound, Mark Ronson then asked for the more up version which was the one he picked for the album which also came out great. This was the way we used to play the song live with Amy, The song was never actually mixed. It was just the ruff mix of the live take in the Daptone Records House Of Soul Studio.
