This is how I became a fan of the show because Tiffani Amber thiessen was going to from Saved by the Bell to 90210. I don't care for the show then but then as started watching every episode since Valerie debut I grow to Love it. I loved her character from the start, and loved that comparing to all the gang, she wasn't an all black or all white character, but had good and bad sides - it made her more real and relatable. She was a good replacement to Brenda, and Tiffani Amber Thiessen did a great job, though she had very very big shoes to fill in. And going from Kelly Kapowski to Valerie Malone, woah ! Just awesome ! 🥰

Not true. The eagle eyed viewer will remember that at Brenda’s opening night. The Walsh’s mention their best friends being from Buffalo. Shannen was already out at this point and this was a subtle hint of what was to come.

This was a brilliant acquisition at that time. Shannen doherty one of the major stars leaves and replace her with the biggest female star from Save By the Bell who is the now the best-looking girl on the show. Tiffani had that "it girl" Megan Fox vibe to her at that time. No wonder why she was getting the mean girl treatment from Jenna and Torri.

@ that might have been the case in the beginning but you have to understand she was coming into a situation where this group of people were a family!!! They had been doing this series nearly 5yrs! I’m sure especially with Jennie and Tori there was some jealousy in the beginning! Women can be very catty especially when a new beautiful girl is now entering the picture!!!!! I figured out one of the reasons why Valerie hates her. I’m pretty sure most fans remember the episode where Kelly and Dylan told Brenda about their relationship. Later that day after she got home, she immediately pulled out Valerie’s phone number and told her EXACTLY what she did to her. And Valerie felt so bad, she told Brenda she wished she could have done something. And after she arrived in Beverly Hills, and Kelly introduced herself to Valerie. Tiffany/ Valerie was best addition to 90210 that actually felt like an original . As a kid I remember watching the premiere new at the time, before social media and seeing her turn around and it was Kelly from Saved By The Bell… it was the biggest exciting crossover . She brought so much excitement and new energy to the show . Best decision. Wish she was included in more current casts reunions .. and that reboot a few years ago .

Prior to the 1994 season and after Shannen Doherty’s departure. Tiffani Amber Thessien became a free agent in Hollywood after Saved By The Bell: The College Years got canceled after just 20 episodes that February. So Mr. Aaron Spelling made her an offer she could not refuse.

But the difference was that character was an optimistic, all energetic and happy cheerleader/volleyball player.
