People from the West don't realize just how many skilled musicians there is in Russia. The culture is such I went to a Prokofiev piano concert at the Moscow conservatorium and the majority of the audience was young girls. Classical pianists can be pop stars in Russia. Also there are some killer jazz players.

What a great musician, multi instrumentalist, a super talented genius... Real hyper pocket music, creative and extremely groovy, a bit scary to think about how good he'll be in 20 years ... The fact that he's from Russia, a country that might have been not so much in touch with musicians like Jeff Lorber, George Duke, Russell Ferrante and many others of that kind, shows that there are no borders when it comes to music, you have it or you don't have it, Valeriy for sure got it. YES!!!!!! RUSSELL FARRANTE!!!! And Of Course GEORGE DUKE!!!!!!!!. When I was a young musician just out of college in the 80s there use to be a Musicians Union phone book I got from one of piano teachers named Dorothy Donegan, Charles Brown being my main piano teacher. But I loved The Yellowjackets and I found Russell Farrante's phone number in the book and called him. He was so cool to invite me to hang out at his house and then the studio. I met Jimmy Haslip and became good friends with Rick Lawson and his nephew LaMonte. Anyway its good to see the real music all the way in Russia still jammin'

Hello Val , I am an African American musician from New York here in America. Some of my friends are among a who's who in the Jazz / RnB / Gospel world . I've been checking you out for awhile now , you are not only a gifted musician , but you play from the heart . I am listening to and watching your recent release " The Sun " . I couldn't stop crying man ... Beautiful Brother .... Such heart and passion... The concept is right on point : Even though we are going through a global crisis ; the Sun still rises. That there is still beauty to be found in the most simplest of things such as the rising of the sun / the sunset. When you switched over and started playing from your heart on the synth , just looking up ; reaching inward : I wept in harmony with you Brother. Guitar great John McLaughlin said in an interview something I will never forget : " Learn everything that you can , then dismiss it and play from your heart " You are proof that music is indeed a universal language. Big ups from from here in America , keep up the great , quality , and heart felt output . We hear you over here . May you and yours remain safe and well as we all deal with this pandemic. You know something? Your solos are out of this world and truly something to behold!! Love this song. Great melody, wonderful feel and groove and talking being in the pocket on those drums. It's as if you came out of you mother's belly with a pair of drum sticks in one hand and a keyboard under the arm in your other...lol...Your keyboard sounds/patches you choose are perfection. Also your keyboard collection is to die for. A peak into your mind would have be like walking into the best music school in the world, the best music store on earth and a world class Museum for song writing, music theory and musical instrument control & execution !! All at the same time. That should give you a little bit better understanding how I feel when I watch play. The joy you get when you play is unmistakably one of the most inspiring things I've ever seen. Just like the song from Willie Wonka it's "Pure Imagination"

Okay. This is more than incredible. My bad mates brother who is a publisher musician sent me a demo of you what-5-6 year ago. I thought everything about it was fantastic and knew this would grow where you are now. The last “Smooth Jazz recording” I purchased was in 2008 or 2009. It had become boring and sterile with zero life to it. Just another sax solo with zero soul, etc. Valeriy’s music supersedes this by not only creating different structures and soundscapes throughout each piece, it’s the intensity of those very things, dynamics, etc that make listening so enjoyable. Actually, I am so proud of you and your accomplishments. I wish you the very best with this new recording. Never stop, ever.

Truth be told: Valeriy is who I wish I could play like. I thought that I was a funky keyboard player in the mold of Lorber or George Duke.
