That guitar finish is absolutely killer! I’m getting into the modeling world, started with a Line 6 Pod Go, and it’s inspired me to go DEEP - bought a Powercab 112 Plus and a Shuriken Variax (that’s on its way). I imagine this will push me to blow my cash on a Helix Floor eventually. So far the Line 6 stuff has been awesome and well worth the price, hope your modeling gear is doing the same for you!

One of my favourites! It's called Black Ice, sadly a finish they only did for 1 year on the Legator Ninjas so if you find one grab it! The modelling world is an incredibly fun (or expensive!) rabbit hole to get lost in. Let us know how you get on with the Shuriken! I was considering reviewing one of those strange Mooer synth guitars..

Thank you I have recently bought a GP200 and i shall try these tomorrow. A video explaining best way to position the pedals in relation to the amp/cab would be very useful and the best use of the hiss control.

Hope you enjoy! Broadly speaking you want drives/distortions/compressors first. Sometimes a noise gate next depending how much gain your rig has. Then the amp model. Then any time based/modulation effects. Then the IR/Cab Sim. Finally any post EQ to refine/remove unwanted frequencies.

I just got the GP200 JR and i am totally new to all this stuff and was looking for video's on how to try and creatate Guns N Roses type sounds especially the You Could be mine track which i am learning at the moment. Anyway i come across this video and just wanted to say how kind of you to do this for people and it sounds great . Take the Clean preset from this pack and crank the Vibrato effect very high! Should get you close.

I have the out from GP-200LT straight to the FX return on the back of my tube amp. Am I doing something wrong? I don't get any sound from the Jimmy Clean present. Thanks for your help.

I had purchased this Valeton GP 200 shortly and I am trying to understand to adjust some sounds / Patches to me needs, but it’s not so easy. For sure, your CLEAN Sound and 5150 High Gain is a good template !!! What I am looking for is, a Patch (Sound) for playing „Purple rain“ -Prince. Do you have something like this? I use Reaper DAW with a Focusrite interface. I dont use the GP200 itself as an interface, instead I take one of the outputs of the GP200 and plug it into my Audio Interface to record.

I just watched your video on the Line 6 Catalyst, at least 10 years ago, I was the happy owner of a Spider Valve 112 which I found absolutely exceptional for its time, a time when there weren't many choices in terms of quality modeling amp . Several years later, things have changed and we have much more choices than in the past, so my question is: What modeling amp can you recommend, whether it's new or old, but an amp that has the best presets out of the box? I dream of a modeling amp where all the presets sound good, from clean to heavily distorted. I prefer to spend more time playing with great sounds rather than spending my days tweaking my amp. I've always loved the Line 6 brand, but I admit that I'm a little lost with all the options and compromises we have to make with brands these days. Also, thank you for your advices, I often listen to them.

Hey man many thanks for watching the channel! There really isnt a "perfect" modelling amp currently available in my opinion. People seem to rave about the Boss Katana most but IMO it still has some of the same issues the catalyst has with UI. Line 6 do still have a Spider V range although for how much longer who knows. The best sounding modelling amp I've encountered has actually been the Peavey Vyper X2/X3 range! I keep meaning to get one in for review and this has reminded me so thanks!

Hey James, I've tried downloading and importing your tones to my GP200, however, they do not give me any sound. I've tried downloading patches from other sources and they worked just fine. Im not sure what's wrong with this or am I missing any thing. I loved your acoustic tone though, if you could help, I would appreciate it alot! TIA

Hiya mate if you're having issues importing there are images at the download link showing you the exact signal chain and settings for everything so you can just copy them and create the rig yourself if needed. Hope this helps.

Falta também consertar os footswitches pra ativarem "on press" ao invés de "press and release (tap)". Não precisa de opção "hold" pra cada um dos footswitches, isso aí fode o timing e a velocidade de troca dos patches.

Thanks so much mate. Film making is my full time day job (checkout my business at severnwave.com) so I tend to overkill the production value on my content. I currently use X2 Sony A7III's both with 24mm Lenses shooting 4K and delivering in 1080p. One mounted on a static in front of me and the other mounted on a GVM motion control slider doing a repeating parallax shot. I light myself using a single Godox SL60 inside a light dome set at about 12% brightness. Audio is handled with a Sennheiser G4 wireless lav. I edit in Premiere Pro and colour grade using Lumetri with James Miller's DeLUTS. Hope this helps 👍
