The only positive thing the GP-25 seems to have over the M320 & M203 is that option for a high angle of attack. The ability to use it as a small mortar (like the Japanese knee mortar) while behind cover sounds like a great option to have.

Your demonstrations have such an impressive attention to detail. As always, I’m hoping you stay safe I also greatly appreciate your input regard your own experience with the system, because it includes a lot of information that otherwise wouldn’t be mentioned. For example, on the standalone conversion, I would have never known that the extended pistol grip is flimsy or that that screw would prevent the trigger from being pulled- just great information all around

honestly doesn't even seem to have the "it's dirt simple and extremely cheap to manufacture" benefit since it's double action and has caseless ammunition. The only major benefit appears to be the built-in indirect fire sight and the very minor convenience of not having to remove the casing (which admittedly can get pretty sticky in a well fired launcher). With training I think you'd only be able to achieve a slightly higher rate of fire with the GP-25, and frankly the reliability may actually make the rate of fire of non-dud ammunition lower.

I've been looking for a GP 25 information for quite some time. On the Internet there is very little info about GP 25 gl and it's granades. This is first video covering GP 25+ ammo. Congrats on that I would love some more information about this gl and ammo for it. Especially covering the "mortar" fire mode. Also I think gp 25 has mutch more granade types than the standard nato 40mm. Like you have the thermobaric, bouncing(probably for mortar mode), bursting smoke screening, flash bang, large illumination rounds... These kind of granades don't exist for the basic nato 40mm. Maybe some comparison between m203 (if you have these available) and GP 25.

Really scary part about soviet grenades is the chance of hangfire. Pull the trigger, nothing... for an unknown period of time. Could be a second or two, could be an entire minute. Long enough to go "Wtf? Misfire, lemme unload it-" followed by the kaboom at your feet after you dump it, or worse, in your hand. Really wouldn't be excited about using decades-old soviet muzzle-loading grenades, either.

I wonder how hard it would be to fix the issue with loading. I know revolvers generally have a "safety cock", which prevents the firing pin from resting on the primer before firing, so maybe the safety could be modified to force the hammer back just a tiny bit to decrease the chance of accidental firing.

The Russian/Soviet GP 25, 30, 34 all use a caseless style of grenade instead of the US style that has a case and is breech loaded. The GPs basically throw the entire grenade out leaving nothing in the tube. Kinda sketchy cuz a burning ember could possibly ignite the propellant if you're rapidly firing them for a suppression effect. Could have a cook off.
