Valheim Build Series | EP 25 | Simple Forest Cabin Pt. 1 - Construction

In the episode of our Valheim Build series we are going to be scaling things down and creating a "Cabin in the Woods" type build. Not the grandest of creations, but love the classic feel of this one!
This will be part 1/2 where we cover the construction of the structure. Decoration video to follow!

Love it! Super cozy. Makes me wish I could build a cabin and disappear into the wilderness, haha. The smaller builds are just as good as the larger ones! Going big just to "go big" doesn't make anything better. It's the quality and the details that matter.

Lol right! I would love to just escape out into these woods for a couple days (minus the skeletons, trolls, etc. lol). I couldn’t agree more with your sentiments on build size! Scale can be an effective tool to create an impressive build, but all too often it becomes the only aspect. Devil is always in the details! Glad to see others who appreciate that 👌🏻

**Warning** This will be very tough if you try to follow along and its your first build, but if you are experienced and can use visual references its well worth it. The video jumps to a lot and he back tracks a lot and rearranges a lot but that's his creative process and the end result is stunning

Cozy builds are my favorite! I need to make a wood cutters cabin so these are great ideas. Love the mantle above the fireplace. I've been using plain long wood vertical beams just flat on the wall as shelves. They are wide enough to put jars and little potion bottles on and they look nice!

VERY INSPIRING, I had a go at building it. i didnt have stone or metal so had to make a couple of creative changes. I also lowered the upper floor so the bed could sit over the fire. I also put in some stained glass windows.😊😊

The black forest really is a super cozy place to build. The tall trees and the canopy really sell it. But that skeleton is basically the reason I don't build there. Well, stuff like the skeleton anyway, that are big, and blue, and sometimes wield trees hahaha Also that skeleton was just going to welcome you to the neighborhood, and you killed him. You're gonna get an "Evil Neighbor" title doing things like that

I added in a 5 meter by 5 meter storage room with reinforced chests to the right of the cellar door in the basement. It fits 12 reinforced chests.

Couldn't get that upstairs balcony because something slight went wrong with the roofing. Don't have that triangular walktrhough. so I just boarded up the sides and made it a room/loft. not having that balcony above the porch looks not as a good but still a damn good build.

it would have helped if you raised the ground in the center of your building so your actual floor was blue instead of green I would have also used corewood pillars in the center of the build for aesthetic and they would have worked fine

First nice build!Question everyone says 2meter pole but measure seems 1meter. Average person is about 6feet. 1meter is just over 3 feet. If your guy stands next to a wall of 2 doubles it is just barely taller...making it a little over 6. with yer way its 12feetplus. appearance is 6plus.

How much of the building is predacated on physics? What I mean is when you are laying your floor boards you have so many cross beam and vertical posts. Are all those really necessary? I'm wondering how to build in the black forest without being attacked, especially by trolls that can easily wipe out the settlement.

I hope that you are using the creative mode for building, if so try using the iron beam to support the whole structure, also make sure that the foundation point is really connecting, sometimes it feels like it is well connected but it might not be actually connected.

So it’s not a mod, but actually a dev command that’s already in the game. Press F5 Type “devcommands” to enable them Type “debugmode” to toggle the creative mode Press “Z” to toggle floating

It may decay but it will never actually fall apart.

This always happens, just gotta get used to fixing things every so often, make it a part of your "village run" when you gotta collect things/refill anything.
