I am learning so much by watching these episodes. I like to hear your commentary about building and such. Helps to understand how to use the different pieces we can use to build with. The boatie is useful always. Those nice big mountains are likely filled with silver as well as ice caves.... the third maypole is a bit higher up and is also a decent base location to be fair

So I actually saw a video a while back that, instead of doing a bunch of portals at their base, someone had a single portal with signs of what the other portals were connected to. And then one without a name specifically for when they set up a new one. That might be something to consider doing in the future. But the dock is looking good so far!

This boatie episode is coming at a good time; my solo game is getting close to the point where I really need to be leaving the starting continent, so this would be a good series to fast-track, for me at least ^_^

I didn't really use the different snapping points until recently. I think I made things a lot harder for myself than they needed to be to be honest. But since I started doing the new playthrough with no dev commands myself, learning to use the snapping points properly is a must. Learning how to use them better thanks to you, so thank you! I've avoided making my own "boatie" a dock because of the weathering effects. Does weathering get bad enough that stuff breaks? I'm not sure how that works.

no the weathering just makes the wood look different never totally destroys it, but I am going to be putting a roof on this dock to protect it :)

docks are the most difficult thing to build in Valheim, thanks to the new snapping points it got a little easier :)

How did you snap those logs without seeing the face of the previous one you were attaching it to?

I could see it was very difficult, but must admit some of them were just luck.

I use Q and E to cycle through the snapping points.

New here. Built a dock but my karve keeps getting destroyed. Any tips?

depends on what is destroying it, my main destroyer is usually necks, but I built camp fires nearby to stop them spawning in the area of my docks, if that don't work I would destroy my own boat and put the materials in a chest nearby and just rebuild when I need it.
