@TheBrodsterBoy Then the game must be talking about two different side. They are not the bad guy, they are soldiers They just try to protect what they are believe, they just villagers The war came so fast that even no one know if they choose wrong side or not A scene where two talented man face to face. Will one of them survive, or they dead together, or they escape and killed after that, no one will know.....

Both of the world wars have the power to easily depress even the strongest man if you present them a certain way. Valiant Hearts is one of a small handful of games that pull that off flawlessly. May we never forget the nearly 100,000,000 People who lost their lives trying to survive, or fighting in both of these wars.

Dearest Marie, As the War ends for me, I have no regrets. I've seen too much horror. I hope Fate has been more merciful to you. Our time on Earth is brief. Mine has been filled with so much joy, that I can only be thankful for how much I've been blessed. Most specially, for the wonder you brought into my life. This letter will be my last. I have been found guilty by a military court for the death of an officer. It was not my intention to kill him. War makes men mad. And though I failed Karl, I know my sacrifice will not have been in vain. I fought for my country, and my Liberty. My honour is assured. Since it is the will of God to separate men on Earth, I hope we will meet again in Heaven. Keep me in your prayers. Your loving Papa, Always.

Actually, Janfred, as a publisher, they hold a lot of power over the end product. Essentially, they can control when the game is released, how much money is given to the creators of the game, and pull out all financial backing at any time. To say that Ubisoft held no power over the end product is false. To say that the developers of this game didn't care about the nitty gritty of what the publisher wanted, and instead made a genuinely good game is likely more accurate.

What I remember most about Valiant Hearts was the feeling of dread. From Act 2 onwards, I had the real gut feeling of "How is the world going to be okay after this? How will things ever be normal again?" even though here we are 100 years later. I didn't believe that any one of the characters was going to survive. I believed that Emile, Freddy, Anna, Karl, Marie, and little Victor would all perish in the war. As each chapter closed and opened I felt I was getting closer and closer to their deaths. I remember the scene where this song plays of course, and that chapter, but more vividly I remember the sigh of relief I felt as I saw the survivors together, happy, and at peace. Neither side was victorious, Germany was defeated and France was too crushed to call it a victory, but *war* had been overcome and defeated, and that is the true enemy of everyday people.

My Grandpa died 3 weeks ago. He became 101 years old. Still can't believe that he is no longer here. I always thought about my grandparents while I was playing this game. Although they suffered among WW2, the horrors and pain, the feelings and emotions made it somehow comprehensible for me. While I drove to work on these days, I heared a Song from Valiant Hearts - it was on my Spotify List somehow. Now I listend to the complete Soundtrack and it really touches me - it's connected to this generation who suffered incredible pain and horrors and were affected their whole lifes afterwards. And so, suddenly, it's also connected to him... I know my grandpa still dreamed about the war and he always spoke about it. And it affected every single day he lived while so many we're not allowed to. He lived his life grateful till the very end and made the best out of it. He meant so much to me, he was always there for me - I will miss him forever. He died sleeping peacefully, whilst holding hands with my Grandma. I know that this is just a post under a videogame track, but this song helps me bear it. Ich hab dich lieb, Opa

Just remembered my old days when my grandpa talked to me when I was young about the Great War (WW1 if you don't know)... He told me about his friends and others that are with him, often keeping this speech to others that they help on the Great War (citizens, soldiers even the enemy that they help they said it too), "Helping you is not what matters, But loyalty is something I should keep with others... Even what I believed in." ... I'm so proud of my Grandpa... R.I.P Grandpa ...

Dearest Marie: As the war ends for me, i have no regrets, I’ve seen too much horror I hope fate has been more merciful to you. Our time on Earth is brief, and mine has been filled with so much joy, that i can only be thankful for how much i’ve been blessed, most specially for the wonder you brought into my life. This letter is my last, I’ve been found guilty by a military court for the death of an officer. It was not my intention to kill him. War makes men mad. Though i failed Karl, i know my sacrifice has not been in vain. I fought for my country and my liberty, my honour is assured. Since it is the will of God to separate us on Earth, i hope we’ll meet again in heaven. Keep me in your prayers. Your loving papa, Always.

I remember getting this for free on the ps4.....It sat in my library for weeks before I decided to give it a play and........I couldn't put it down . The gameplay was a break well needed form the spay-everything-with-bullets games I tend to gravitate to. The story and he music had me so.....entrenched......Then I got to this scene, and I actually let a few tears fall........ I don't know why I was expecting a game about war to have a good ending.

Sometimes I like to imagine myself standing in the middle of huge battle between two nations. Leaders are screaming their battle cries, bullets are whistling above soldiers' heads, bombs are falling down slowly, people are dying.... And I can't hear anything. Anything, but this song. God, I wish people will be able to make somekind of virtual realizations of (in)famous battles and wars, so you could see it all by yourself, like if you was literally here.

The first time I played this game I was in my early teens. I saw it in a game review and fell in love with the graphics. As I didn't speak English very well at the time, most of the story flew over my head, but I enjoyed playing with the different characters. Then came the ending, when the guard appeared in front of the cell, and I thought things would be okay. However, the combination of this music, the saluting soldiers and just the voice of the VA was enough to have me bawl my eyes out for a good 15 minutes during and after the end of the game. I don't think a single game managed to achieve that ever since. Thank you Ubisoft.

Those who died in the war will never be forgotten. Never forget... amen. I lost a family member in Afghanistan back in 2009 when I was 4, (Yes I’m 12). And, I never understood why he never came home until I was 8. When I was at that age, I understood more, so my parents decided to tell me why he never came home. And, I just can’t forget that day. Saying that my older brother was shot in combat... I cried for 2 weeks, didn’t get schoolwork done, and just wanted to give up. But, there was a day that I thought that I can’t give up here, and I ignored everyone else and focused on who I was and tried to avoid the thought of my brothers death. And from that day on, since July 27th. I’ve gone to where my brother rests and wished that he was here with me. I love you, brother... Goodnight sweet brother. 1989-2009. “He was not a person, he was a warrior and died for our honour.”
