The down side of these ice makers is the ice bin is not refridgerated. That means the ice gets very watery almost right away unless it is used immediately. Either use the ice or it melts. Kind of a pain. It would be nice if once the ice bin was full the ice in it was frozen hard and didn't melt.

Do any of these make real ice? 4 5 and 6 look the same and ive had one of them it makes some poor water ice, any recommendations?

If you're in a hot area over 90 degrees, it doesn't make ice, the compressor is just too weak for the application

I've had my expensive GE Opal Nugget ice maker for less than a year, and it is horrible!!! The ice is great, and speedy in making it, but it is SO LOUD and makes moaning, ghoulish sounds ALL day long. You can hear it from the other room, and people on the phone with me can hear it too. I'm seriously considering giving it away and getting a smaller, cheaper, quieter brand. It is horrible!!! It even scares my cats.

I just bought one of these things. I noticed there was a Frigadaire model that was red and another which was stainless steel. They were the same thing except for the minor differences of color and name. It does say to let it sit for two hours before using to allow the refrigerate time to settle. It does have a cleaning mode which basically pumps the water around. I didn't know that these little things have a drain plug in the bottom. What might be important for some people is the side that this thing vents the hot air. It appears they draw from the back and exhaust from the circular side vent. In this case, the right side which was good for my usage. I'm still not sure where the water level thing is other than not to fill it above the little ice basket.

None of these have coolers in the ice so when the ice is made it can stay cold if you leave it there it just melts 🤷🏾
