I don't even necessarily hate ads as a concept, but the problem was that advertisements 20 years ago had such a bizarre tonality to them. I was sick with a fever one day, laying in bed, and I remember the advertisements on TV being so bizarre that I never wanted to hear them again. I stopped watching television entirely.
