Rng truly hates me for this part. My lancers kept missing those polls. Dont ask how but they just did.

Shocktroopers can take down those poles as well with a much higher success rate. It’s only the poles in the middle that are armoured and requires lancers to take down !

I kinda feel guilty for using your guides, they made the thing a breeze, thankfully I'm in it more for the story. You made me realize how broken orders are in this game, and also that the requirements for A ranks are pretty wild, if you don't cheese you almost can't get them. I didn't do this mission exactly the way you did but your strategy was super effective and helpful. I used the orders attack boost, defense boost, and neutralize. His health went down so fast. Thanks man!

LOL Vyse didn't activated his "Challenge lover" so I was like "Stupid SoB! You'll get killed and I'll have to reload". But then he reached Max and did a Double attack, problem solve, 1AKO.

whereas i just finished this game a couple days ago. 2-turned Maximillian by using Rosie, another shocktrooper, and Zaka for backup. neglected orders, since i rarely use them. the 3 of them together actually got him down to about 25% health in the first turn, but then he healed after the cutscene

Decent weapon and a double attack will knock him out skipping the heal too which is nice.

in case someone was in my place with no way to get awaken order. it's not necessary but you might need to reload a few times to get double attack or challenge's lover to trigger.

You probably either figured it out or quit playing the game, but you need to be standing to make the shot properly... I was crouching and had the same problem.

I can snipe it but there is zero damage to the pylon and I saw my shot connect

@@colinneptunevasilias822 Make sure there is a SHOT TO KILL indicator. A large part of the pylons are just cosmetics and the real hitboxes are tiny.

Holy shit Largo keeps missing one of the two shots and I am using the T-M20R omfg and the Schocktroopers arent enough high lvl so Vyse doesnt have the Challenge Lover skill so I gotta use Rosie who barely does the damage shown in the video. I will try by not using Awaken Potential and see what happens.

Is this battle possible without this order setup? I tried for hours but could not kill Max. He always recovered HP each turn. How can you defeat him without activating potentials? Or is it impossible?

My shock were underleveled too, so i took down towers like in video, but then used "attack all" and defence order, and ran 3 shocktropers so they support each other when shooting. Took me 2 turns instead of 1, but worked out

Don’t make your tank get the last upgrade as the extra armor around the turret will block your sniper

Rewatching this for my 2nd playthrough I just realized that was actually a problem. My Marina couldn't hit the tower unless she was exposed to Max so I had to wait until he reloaded then poked her out to shoot

This final battle is SO STUPID! Tanks cannot hit the bad guy but soldiers can ... LOL I kept firing my tank canon for nothing. SHIT!

I used the shamrock with the quad machineguns to kill him. However, i needed 3 turns to achieve it unlike him.

So was the original intent with vyse the double shot? I followed this but at the first time attacking it triggered and basically beat him in two attack bursts. Anyways thanks for the help with this guide it’s helped a lot on the way. Edit I can’t read apparently because other comments said this as well lol 😭

Correct double attack is the goal here. It didn't pop for me so had to do the slow run over to kill him.

You got the key orders from this way: Penetration= level up snipers to level 15 Caution= level up scouts level 12 Awaken potencial= buy this order to aged gentleman in the war cementery for 15000 exp I hope helps

Not sure what's going on, but my Vyse doesn't have Challenge Lover. He's same level as yours but has less hp. Edit: Found out why he doesn't have Challenge Lover. You have to actually use him. Considering it was mostly Rosie/Alicia doing all the work throughout the campaign, he never had a chance.

I bought this game a couple of weeks ago on Switch, never needed a guide until the very last mission... This mission feels so out of place for me... So, just cheese Max in turn 1? With all offensive orders on a guy I didn't have in my squad? Got it Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game, I just genuely hate the last mission for being "shoot the tiny targets and kill the bad guy" (Didn't know snipers could also take down those towers...)

Valkyria 1 has a lot of moments where you need to cheese character potentials and order stacks. Especially boss battles. 4 has a ton of it too actually but it's usually grenadiers cheesing one hit kills on bosses with order stacks. Unless you're a completionist or love a challenge,cheesing it is usually the only way to get by without hours of frustrating trial and error

im sure the guide works, my issue is the ridiculous RNG this game has. Largo still can't aim and the leveled up lances provides little in accuracy. i wonder how people did not finish the game due to levels similar to this. EDIT: after failing 15 times, i just cheated and gave myself infinite CP points just to beat it, Largo missed like 3 times in a row and had an engineer refill his ammo for the electric towers. bad RNG really gives me an excuse to cheat

@@Kyorisu sometimes Maximilian blows up my tank in one hit whenever i have to hit the armored towers in the 2nd turn, which requires tank or lance. Have to deal with dialogue scenes which gets annoying fast. Cheating was my last resort since I wanted to continue on to the 4th game.

I feel kinda lame for looking up guides but bro without knowing the proper time to use orders and some levels would of been irritating as hell without watching the videos,but I bought VC4 aswell since it was bundled with VC1. I will do my 1st playthrough without watching your guides just to have more fun,although Scout Blitzing will still be OP im sure.
