in 95, the Canadian contingent to Haiti brought a Pizza Oven with them! We would occasionaly go over there for pizza night. The Canadians have a long tradition of taking care of their troops well with foods.

Especially during World War I, The Canadian Army took care of the German soldiers by giving them lunch bags…with hand grenades in them (true story, most of the provisions for The Geneva Convention was the result of the Canadian army’s actions during the First World War, so as a Canadian…you’re welcome)

I worked with a bunch of marines during a canadian military ex in Canada. The marines said they liked our food better than there's. Was down in South Dakota for Golden Coyote. We had mostly hot food in the field, but it was not healthy, lol. I had a great time, though. Always have a good time working with the US.

The Geneva “guidelines” are also there because the Canadian soldiers during World War I gave the German army “lunch bags” with hand grenades in them. Also Canadian soldiers executed a bunch of German POWs because they didn’t have space for them at our bases. As a result of this, and other treatment from various countries (mustard gas, use of White phosphorus to name a few things) The Geneva Convention was born. As a Canadian I have to say “You’re welcome”

Although it's been over 20 years, I think I used to enjoy our MRE's. Chili con carne is the only one that stands out in my mind. Favourite firearm? I'm going with my Walther P38 as it was my grandfather's; huge sentimental value for me.

The Canadian MREs are actually really high quality, i remember when they were trialling all kinds of different ones to see which ones appreciated the most by military units. There was some amazing meals for an MRE

I have two, the Bren gun due to being super accurate also doesn't spray around like other machine guns and the Owen gun an Aussie made machine gun that can be dropped in the mud or other clogging/ weapon fouling substances pick it up and let off rounds without cleaning required.

Our Cdn IMPs are so much better now than when i was in in the early 80s-our stuff then was more like c rats and dated to 1967.The rusk bread still tastes like cosmoline however.10 to 1 the snickers bar is ghost grey as well.
