One of my favourite things about Sword and Shield is that in normal Pokemon games, the kids are heavily relied on to save the world. In this game the adults just tell you to shoo and enjoy the Gym Challenge until the moment ALIEN DRAGON SATAN turns out to be too much for them to handle and then you're thrust into the final battle with an ancient evil without any context.
