As a Valley fan....Da valley has to much old dancers, also seemingly no new ideas or fresh thinking. Their 2023 New Year theme was poorly executed. The group seems to lack energy/good performance during parades. TThe brass has not found a distinct tones/song/sounds that are unmistakably the Valley boys (Unlike the Saxons who play that Dr. Cassandra song with a sweet pre lude tone ) . The leadership needs help or to be changed. The backline has improved but still breaks down ( not as often now) ...but still not as good as Saxons drumers Also they need a new hook, Big Ju (RIP) has been gone for some years now from Bay Street.... The Who are we ...Da Valley thing is pretty old now...and not the same without Big Ju.... Seems like it is time for changes witin the Valley...if they hope to start winning again.. Valley Fan

Most of the criticism is unfair or invalid except for the dancers part. Their brass section has a very distinct sound and every group's back line breaks down from time to time. Especially Saxons 😂

I disagree in part . It's really hard to develop a unique sound only to be told you sound like (Southern University) someone else. All bands have issues and lack something. What I like about Da Valley is they pattern themselves after no one and whoever is doing there arrangements is a beast and a master mind.......Good job Valley!!!!
